Hello i had the convergence problem fixed and the television works great again.I cleaned the lenses with a soft cotton cloth and lense cleaner and dusted cob webs. For some reason now in the middle of the screen is a 2 inch streak horizontal that looks like someone made a marker line. I cannot figure out for the life of me why or whats causing it. Have any ideas? You last answer was right on. Thank you.

If auto convergence does not work in the menu then replace the convergence ICs and check resistors around it. You can take the grill off the front and access the convergence board fron the front. Its a small board to the right and it is removable. Do auto convergence again after replacement.
I had the same problem with my tv. It is a convergence problem but if it has convergence settings in the menu and they don't fix it, you need to clean the lenses with alcohol and q-tips. I did it with the tv on so i could make sure it was clean by the absence of streaks on the lenses. The outer screen (if it is smooth) should be a protective screen (just plexiglass). You can get a replacement at a glass store be sure to keep the old one so they can cut a piece to size. It the screen you are talking about has little lines in it your freznel lens is scratch and it will be difficult to find a replacement. Good luck!
It has dust on the lenses. My RCA rear projection uses a 7/64" allen key. take the speakers' cover off and then remove (I think) the three screws below the button pannel, and 2 on each side on the back on button pannel. the projectors should be easy to see. I turned mine on when I cleaned the lenses so i could tell if there was any streaks.
Once the lenses are cleaned go to auto convergence in the setup menu and your problems should be fixed. Good Luck.
I had the same problem but it wouldn't converge on the whole right side of the screen. I fixed my problem by taking off the speaker cover, removing the 3 allen 7/64" screws from the front of the bottom of the button pannel, then removing the 4 scew from the back of the pannel (2 on each side), and the button pannel should drop down. With the power on I cleaned the 3 projection lenses with many qtips dipped in alcohol. I left the TV on so I could see if there was any streaking on the lenses (streaking means it is still dirty). Once they were all clean and I put the button pannel back on, I went to the menu and ran the autoconvergence function. Now my picture is so clean. Good Luck.

What do you mean by covers? do you mean focual lens? did you replace them to there proper place (red to red, green to green, ect..). each has it's own focal legnth and must be placed on the correct gun. did you adjust (accidentaly) the red centering polls?if you did please have a tech readjust them you can end up with convergance amp overload. did you try to converge the lines? if they did not move when adjusting you may have a convergance amp problem. read my motto
