do not know the modle number or the set it has non both be removed man somebody told me that the reason was that i got the dip at the top of the tv and the dip at the bottom and the blurrying of the tv and word is because of the ic failure is that true or not man

  • wolverines01 Jul 25, 2008

but i do not know the model number so that were im stuck at plus i do not know what part i need yet unless u know or do u got a diagram of the tv to some me what i need so i can look for it

  • wolverines01 Jul 25, 2008

i looked i order stk392110 and ther were not the right one we found that out she said the i need a ic amp

  • wolverines01 Jul 25, 2008

this is what she said maybe you know something more

Ok that chassis is from 1987 thats a classic. That is going to have one large Ic a STK number that powers the convergence unit, and that board way over to the right attached to the side of the set has all the heat sinks on it? The transistors on those heat sinks control the individual movements of the convergence controls. So your main IC amp is whats needed. Can you give me the number off that large IC with a STK number on it?

  • wolverines01 Jul 25, 2008

ye with think we got the right part order now we hope

Thats usually the case of a failed convergence IC when you get the arcs at the top and bottom of the screen

without the model number there is no way to tell unless you take the number off the ICs . If its a HDTV its a DPTV chassis with two STK392-120 ICs if its a non HDTV it has two STK392-110 ICs. If it has only one those are from the 70 and 80s so they had different ICs they used so you will need the number off that IC to tell.

Thats an old chassis that one uses one single IC then about 10 other transistors on a seperate convergence board. I am not sure of the part numbers as that has to be in the PTV 6 or 700 series rear projections that was before they started using two ICs to bypass all the single transistors.

Hitachi Big Screen TV 46 inch Problem

Do not adjust any knobs as instucted in the previous thread if you TV have a convergence problem. Doing so will only make things worse. The blog does however show you how to fix other common problems with these sets.

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Good Day, jake1;

This TV is not known for this problem, but when TV has blue screen, it normally means the TV is lacking a signal. Ensure you have that.

Do you get OSD, on screen display? Try different inputs such as DVD. What happens?

Let me know, big IRISH.
