Won't pick up next sheet of paper

I have a 1350W that no longer can pick up the next piece of paper from the pile. I end up having to manually peel up the next sheet and gently push it into the printer for the autofeed to grab it. makes printing any larger job a real hassle. Any thoughts?

I am having the same problem.

I have the same exact problem, and I also hand-feed the next sheet. I had some success by keeping the paper tray full, but it still malfunctions way too often. (and a note: a simple opening and closing of the toner access door resets the printer - you don't need to power off/on)

I actually found this website while searching for a fix to this problem.

Clean the rubber roller in the middle with Formula 409.
If this doesn't help the roller will need to be replaced:
Part number 4136 3001 01 from 800 972 6705.

Use some Q-Tips and alcohol to clean the rubber rollers just above your paper stack - they get dusty and sometimes won't take the next piece of paper.

Lexmark X4550 all-in-one Paper feeds only half way then jams

Frances;
I'm not Lexmark certified; however, paper motion fails are generic in nature. Paper motion fail can be a bit difficult to diagnose at a distance...
* If it jams at every sheet then check to insure there is not a bit-o-paper stuck from a previous jam.
* If it has been an issue that has been increasingly getting worse than I'd replace the pick-up roller(s)
* Lexmark's support page for your printer is below. (You can also find a service prover too)
* Parts order for your printer is also below. You can determine at the support page if your comfortable replacing pick-up rollers in that model printer.
support lexmark com Service Parts
Note:
* Frequently people tear a jammed sheet when it comes out leaving pieces behind. BAD! When you get a torn sheet in your printer insure you retrieve all the pieces. Those left behind guarantee a jam on your next try.
* Paper jams not caused by debris in the path or worn pick-up roller(s) is beyond user maintenance.

My Brother MFC-7820N has trouble picking up sheets of paper

Hi! I just recently noticed that the 7820N has an "extension" piece at the back of the paper tray. This extension should be pulled all the way out and the blue paper stop adjusted accordingly. Otherwise, the loose extension piece will slide out from the rear of the printer when the tray is slammed in, and the paper will not be where the the printer expects it to be.

Other than that, check that the pad at the front of the tray is clean, and that the plastic small roller next to it rotates freely. Also, try cleaning the rubber rollers that are located inside the printer above the tray with a damp cloth.

I have the same printer and had the same problem.
Cleaned takeup roller wit isopropyl and it has worked now for 18 months. If you dont use it often, remove top sheet from stack and blow the dust off it before printing.

Won't pick up the next sheet of paper

While it doesn't always work, this problem seems to be helped by keeping the tray as full as possible. It has more trouble picking up pages when the stack is low.

Konica 1350w will not pick -up paper any more? please help?

I had the same problem. I noticed there is a ridged rubber wheel that picks up the paper and it was just sliding over the paper. I opened the printer, pulled the toner cartridge out and rubbed the wheel with my finger until I could feel friction. Closed it back up and it works. Perhaps the rubber wheel gets coated with paper fiber and makes it less "sticky" over time. A simple cleaning may be all it needs.

Paper feeding.

Careful 'knocking up' and 'riffling' the sheets before placing in the feed tray will go a long way to to alleviate this one. Getting air between the sheets is the object of the exercise . The cutting packing and wrapping of sheets compresses them. Did you know also that there is a right side and wrong side to copy paper? Look at the side or end of a new pack for the arrow.
