I have been using my Expert Personal Roots Deluxe for approximately 10 years and have been using it with a variety number of computers. The number on the case and the disc is I-8668 01. The last time I changed to a computer with Windows 7 (about 3 years ago) I could not use the program at all. In all the time I have had the program I have not been informed of an upgrade of the program which is user friendly and simple for seniors to use. I hope that this program can upgraded ore a simple program to it can be provided. REPLY REQUESTED. Thank you.

Run Expert personal roots using Windows 7 XP mode .check this link

If the program is installed but gives the error when you attempt to run it try this: Right-click the icon you use to start the program and select Properties, then click Find Target (this will open Windows File Explorer with the program's executable file highlighted). Right-click the executable file and select Properties, then the Compatibility tab. Select "Run this program in compatibility mode" selecting the Windows 98 option. Try running the program again.
If your problem happens while you're trying to install the program, try using the Compatibility Wizard on the Setup file for the program. The file may be called Setup.exe or something similar, and is located on the Installation disc for the program.
To run the Program Compatibility Wizard: Click Start, Help, Support, Fixing a Problem, Application and Software Problems. Under Fix a Problem, click Getting Older Programs to Run on Windows XP and then click the Program Compatibility Wizard link. Follow the instructions in the wizard. The wizard will prompt you to test your program in different modes and with various settings. You may need to repeat this process until you find the correct Compatibility Mode combination.

For the Casio fx-9750G II how can I change the sin cos tan into decimal format? I'm not sure i wording this right...

The values of trigonometric functions are real numbers. A few special values are rational such as tan(45 degrees)=1. In general the values are decimal numbers whose decimal representations have an infinite number of digits. Your calculator can only give you an approximation.
So I really do not see what you want.
Some new calculators can give you values with radical (square roots), Calculators with a Computer Algebra System or CAS can do algebra and manipulate roots of higher index.

I suspect that win 7 doesn't support this software. I am not familiar with win 7 but apparently you can install programs in XP mode which may well help you in this case

Windows 7 Home Premium will not recognise the extension .ES$ which 'Expert - Personal Roots' applied to an old program which used Windows 95. Can W7 run such a program ?

No - the program is too old. But you can do something else: You can install a Virtual Machine program, like
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/
in 7, in the virtual machine you can install Win95 , in it you can install the program Expert - Personal Roots and with it open your file and save it in another generic format.

How to factor with this model

Hello,
Sorry, but you cannot use this calculator to factor a general polynomial.
1. It does not know symbolic algebra.
2. It can only manipulate numbers.

However if you have polynomials of degree 2 or 3, with numerical coefficients (no letters) you can set [MODE] to Equation and use the equation solver to find the real roots of 2nd degree or 3rd degree polynomials. Assuming that your polynomials have real roots (X1, X2) for the polynomial of degree 2, or (X1, X2, X3) for the polynomial of degree 3, then it is possible to write

P2(X) =a*(X-X1)(X-X2)
P3(X)= a(X-X1)(X-X2)(X-X3)

where a is the coefficient of the highest degree monomial aX^2 +...
or aX^3 +....

This is an approximate factorization, except if your calculator configured in MathIO, has been able to find exact roots (fractions and radicals)

While the [MODE][5:Equation] only handles quadratic and cubic equations, the [SHIFT][SOLVE=] solver finds the roots of arbitarry expressions (not limited to polynomials). In principle you can use it to find the roots of an expression. If it is a polynomial of dgree higher that 3 you can factor it (approximately).

But I have a hunch that this is not what you wanted to hear.

Hope it helps.
