Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

My motion Broan fans model MS130 seem to have malfunctioning Motion sensors. We have tried to clean them with a dry rag as the spec. sheets indicate. It worked a couple of times and now they won't come on. It seems to help with some of them to get closer and wave your hands around under them. These are used in an intense, busy commercial setting. If you post this problem under "fans" you will be more likely to get an answer. Right now, this is posted as if it was an air conditioner.

Why when washing hands, faucet keeps shutting off.

Motion sensing technology is a great feature but has some limitations. The motion sensing is limited for one main reason if it senses motion to far away from the faucet the faucet would come on when you walk by so the motion sensor is very restrictive in it's distance and angle of sensing. When you first start washing your hands you probably bring them in close to start the faucet but then lower them or bring them further away from the faucet. This in turn takes your movement away from the sensing eye and the sensor stops sensing movement and shuts the faucet off. Try finding out what distances the sensors movement to see where it stops recognizing that there is someone using the faucet. this will give you an idea of where you have to stay when using the faucet to keep it sensing correctly. I know this seems like a loto f work to use something so intelligent but in fact the faucet is very dump and has a limited function pattern.

One thing to also check if the faucet was working fine but then just started to malfunction is that the sensing eye is not dirty, covered in mineral deposits or the lens is not scratch badly. All the above problems can cause the sensor to miss read motion or have trouble sensing motion. Since this is a moen they are usually very good about replacement parts.

Skyward Sword game. Inserted game, sat through boring 'how to connect motion sensor etc. Then screen tells me to connect nunchuck to motion sensor. It IS already connected but machine doesn't seem to

Must be the game I havent got it but you might need to clean your sensor bar with a clean tissue and then connect your wii remote to your nunchunk. Also clean the front of your wii remote . Try syching your remote with your console again this might help.

Automatic sensor drying

Hello, Welcome to FixYa. As with most things each manufacturer seems to have their own terminology or "exclusive features" for their products. To answer your question, in a word...Yes. As a general rule "sensor" does indicate an "auto dry" cycle when properly maintained ( as long as the sensors aren't contaminated by way of "wax" build-up over the surface...clean regularly with a rag moistened by "white vinegar" if you us fabric softner or dryer sheets etc. ) and vented that will shut the dryer "off" automatically when sensing the items are dry...depending on the options and cycles selected of course. Hope this answers your question and thanks for visiting FixYa today. Please take a moment and rate the answer if satisfied or let me know if you require further assistance. macmarkus :)

Technical Services Note
MT6xx/T6xxx (All) Paper Motion Faults 11 May 1995
If you are having problems with recurring Paper Motion Faults that don’t seem to stay
fixed by doing the paper motion sensor calibration, try the following:
· Check the back of the form along the left side to ensure there are no black (dark) areas
in the area of the tractor drive holes. (If there are, this is probably the problem. If not,
proceed on down this list.)
Clean the sensor on the upper left tractor then run the calibration routine again. If it’s
not better yet, continue.
With Tech Access ON, do the following:
Go into DIAG - Meters - Paper Motion and monitor the sensor reading with paper
installed and removed. If the reading with paper installed is in the 300 to 350 mVolt
range, change the sensor (even if it seems to run the calibration alright). A more
normal reading would be something greater than 600 mVolts for the MT691/6092 and
1000mVolts or greater in the 645/661. Don’t forget to recalibrate the sensor. If it’s
not fixed yet, try this next step.
Run a configuration printout and then do the following:
1. Clear the NV Ram (Tech Access feature ON)
2. Calibrate the Paper Motion and Paper Out sensors
3. Restore the configuration based on the print-out you just ran
