Connex 4600 Turbo Problems.

posted by 40_Watt on Jul 25, 2008

Some "CB shop" local did some popular mods to this rig and I am trying to reverse them. He uses old school books on ALL Ranger made boards (Galaxy,Connex, etc.) He did the "Cut the trace and bridge with a diode" mod, he did the little "resistor & capacitor on the audio chip" mod, and the little "switch in the rear" to turn the amp on and off mod.The audio was so freakin over driven it did nothing but distort. I remove the diode and reconnected the trace. I removed the cap + res from the audio chip, and totally removed the switch and reconnected the wires as per factory. Do you have any pics of the board of this rig? Or are you familiar with the diode and the audio chip res + cap mod? if so can you help me make sure I didn't miss anything like canging the value or a resistor ,or a location of a capacitor. I used my resources like cbtricks.com and others and nobody has a mod list or internal tour of this paticular radio.
Thank you,
Bill (40 Watt)
