Question about HP PSC 1610 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier

Can't print to 1410 after I upgraded to Leopard

I upgraded my iMac to Leopard last night, and now I cannot print to my 1410. It was working fine prior to the upgrade. I have tried reinstalling the drivers from the Leopard CD, resetting the printer list, and re-adding the printer. It looks like it will print, can "see" the printer enough to tell me ink levels, but goes it "idle" before actually printing. I cannot print any .pdf files since upgrading to Leopard. Regular files from Pages print just fine. Any application that handles .pdf files just crashes whenever you try to print from it (Preview, Acrobat Reader, Quicktime, etc.).
I have sent error reports to Apple, so maybe they will find the problem within Leopard.
I am using a printer over a wireless network with Bounjour as the intermediary. My printer is an HP 1610 all-in-one.

    I have a similar problem.  I upgraded to Leopard and now my HP PSC 1610 All-in-One Printer/Scanner/Copier won't scan.  When I try to scan it says "No Scan Options.  You need to install or run device software for feature."  I re-installed, so no avail.  The printer is configured in my computer.  It worked without problems for years before I upgraded.  Help!

I believe I had a similar problem. Try this:
Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax > '+'
Select the Epson 1410 and then under Print Using go to Select a driver to use the Epson Styls Phot 1410 - Gutenprint v5.1.3

I hope it helps.

I have imac. and i want to change his operating

Yes it is very easy to do as you are running a Mac with Intel Processor. You have Mac OSx Leopard with updates 1,2, & 3. To upgrade to Mac OSx Snow Leopard you must buy the upgrade. Go here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/ On the top right click (Buy Now) You will have to pay $29 which is a bargain. Once you get the upgrade on CD simply follow the directions for the simple upgrade. I did the same thing when Snow Leopard came out. It is well worth the $29.

Airport Express, Bonjour Printing Does Work With Leopard

In the setup of the Airport network settings, you have to make sure that AppleTalk is actually turned on (or the box is checked). When using Mac's with Leopard and you use both the ethernet port and airport off and on, the OS tends to deactivate AppleTalk. Its not a set thing, just random.

Can't print to 1410 after I upgraded to Leopard

You need to update your printer software. Download and install from this link;

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-58037-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=219&product=441115

Once it is installed I suggest that you open system preferences (found by clicking the apple in the top left) and go to print and fax and delete and readd the printer so it will pull from the most recent drivers.
