SOURCE: car stereo problem

Some units also have an ignition wire that must be hot for the unit to turn on. Other than that, I can't think of anything else other than a bad unit.

Hope that helps...

I get static and distortion in Stereo mode.

if you are reffering to a radio fm receiver, the issue is the signal strength is too low.so the multiplex transmission cannot be correctly unscrambled.mono reduces the cross channel interference.
use a high gain 12 db or above external vhf antenna to solve this problem

Tip

Building your own Antennas

To build antennas for any frequency use formula L=234/Freq. Lets say 100 mhz. That would be L=2.34 feet or about 30 inches(close). Ok, Build a dipole antenna with a plastic insulator and 75 ohm Tv Coax. Take stiff alumnium rods or wire. Punch a hole into a plastic piece 4 inches apart. Insert Rods on both sides. Take shiny screws (Not Painted). attach Center Coax to Right side and Shield (ground) to Left side. Silicone these connections and use Black tape to wrap it good. Mount it on your Chimney or on a Tv pole 12-25 feet. Now, the coax coming into your house has to hook to your stereo by a 75 ohm match coil bought cheap at Electronic stores or Tv, radio supply stores. Attach coax by screwing it to coil and the two prongs screw to Back of your Fm Stereo. It will say ANT and GND. on back of Radio. You should pull in Fm stations better than indoor antennas and get farther away stations. It may have a 3 Db gain. Its the same for Cb radio --Just Use L=234/Freq. it comes to 8.5 feet(102 inches) Roughly. Its all Dipole Technology ..No Commercial antenna but will get decent results.

I bought a campact disc player (Durabrand; Model CD-896; made by Lenoxx Electronics Corp) which did not include AC adaptor. Now I am trying to find a matching adapter (DC: 4.5V 500mA). Can I find it on...

Power supplies with those specs are common online. Radio Shack could probably set you up with a universal power supply that adapts to all the common plug sizes.

web search "4.5V 500mA dc supply"

I have a Durabrand CD player (model CD-1095) and I can't find the cord to plug it in, so I wanted to buy another cord without having to buy a whole other CD player. Is that possible?

A standard web search found the obvious answer.

"Durabrand CD-1095 power cord"

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_get_a_cord_for_a_Durabrand_CD_player_model_cd_1095

"You can purchase a generic power cord at Radio Shack. I had the same exact model and found that their catalog number 61-2875 was a perfect fit. It lists for $7.99. To be sure, take your radio in for an exact match. Good luck! :o)"

I want to find out the life expectancy of the bulb (lamp) that comes with the Optoma projector model VDDVGG

We tracked it when we first bought ours. The lamps go anywhere from 800 to 1200 hours. First, I don't think the manufacturing process is very consistent so they very a lot. Also, it seems the more you turn them on/off the shorter the life. If you use for longer periods, then they last more hours.

You might be able to get 2000 hours out of one if you just leave it on without turning it off but that is a waste too.

Is it possible to install a car stereo without disconnecting the battery cable? I have heard someone mention a harness system where the battery does not have to be disabled for installation. Is this...

Yes, it is possible. There is no "special harness" that allow this to be done any easier or safer. If you have a proper wiring harness for the radio that doesn't expose any bare wires or involve cutting up your car's original wires, it's pretty safe to do. You just unplug the old radio and plug the new one in place. But no matter what kind of wiring harness you have, it's always better and safer to disconnect your battery to keep anything from shorting out.

I just bought a durabrand home theater system. can i hook it up so that i can have sound coming from regular cable tv, or do i have to have a dvd player. please help

If it has a audio input connection on the back then you can connect from your TV or cable box (as long as it has audio output connections) to the back of the stereo. Durabrand being an inexpensive brand, it may not have some of the frills that you'd find on other units.

How do I set my clock on my Durabrand car stereo/cd player?????

I'm not sure of the model # of your product but just mess around to get the hang of it. i never read manuals unless they're extremely important!

if u really need help find ur model # go on the web to google and type in the model #, product manufacturer, and "manual" after that.

that hopefully should help
