Where to find the wire going to the trailer towing plug for the braking.

As far as I know, your trailer towing package does not include a circuit for trailer braking. These packages normally only supply taillights, brake-lights, and turn signals.
RV sales and service dealerships should be able to help you.
God bless your efforts.

No left turn/brake light for trailer

In the Uk nearlly all trailor socket wiring is done from the rear light wiring of the towing vehicle so I suggest checking the wiring back from the trailor connection socket and also socket, it could be a broken or cut wire. Also will probably find your vehicle a control unit fitted the trailor socket which could also the problem. Find the pin outs for your turn signal on the socket and connect a bulb across this connection and the common earth to check its not a fault on your tralior.

I have a new 2010 jeep cherokee and purchased a Mopar 7-way tow harness. I am currently in the process of doing the wiring installation, but the instructions are NOT clear as to 'what' gets...

if you have the dealer tow connector then it easy to do, theres no cut of wires you just connnect to connectors,if you look under the rear of the jeep you will see the connectors, they are pre wiring and taped or zip tied up, on this year if you dont see them under the rear then look inside the rear behind panels. heres a good website with videos to help you, all you do is type in the year make and model, there are two types, if your truck has the tow package then theres a wiring for that with two plugs if it didnt come with a tow package then it comes with four connector plugs, the web site is www.etrailer.com

My brake lights and turn signal lights do not work for my tow package/trailor pig tail

Since you don't mention if your lights work on the car itself, I'll assume they do. The first thing you should do is use a test light and make sure everything works at the plug coming off the car including the ground. If all is good there the next step is checking the lights on the trailer. If they failed at the car plug that must be fixed first. When checking on the trailer check all of the grounds and plugs first since this is the most common problem in trailers, mainly the grounds.

I do not have power on the aux. terminal in the trailer plug on a 2008 dodge ram. Any ideas?

You have got 7 pin trailer connector that was included in the optional trailer tow package. This trailer tow package also includes an electric trailer brake wiring provision that terminates at a connector located on top of the large body harness connection under the instrument panel to the left of the break pedal, as well as an electric trailer brake pigtail harness and an instruction card that are stored in the glove box when the vehicle is shipped from the factory. You will need to add an electric brake controller of your choice that will plug-in to the harness and that will also give you power on your auxiliary circuit.

Wiring tow bar electrics

Just tap off of the rear lights , You can do most of the wiring on one side and only have to tap the indicator off the other side.
shouldn't need a relay unless you have lots n lots of lights on the tailer.
Hope this helps.

1998 Windstar w/o tow package need solution to increase tow capacity

You may be getting into a very dangerous situation. You definitely need a tranny cooler, a brake controller installed in your van, electric brakes on all wheels of whatever u r towing, an oil cooler (engine), and u still may be in big trouble. Factory towing packages usually include heavy duty brakes, alternator, heavy duty suspension, bigger tires, sway bars, etc. So even w/ some add-ons u still won't match a factory set up, meaning u shouldn't tow that much weight. Check out edmonds.com/ownership/howto/articles/44921/page001.html for more info, be careful, and good luck, countrycurt0

Trailor lights won't work

If the trailer lights work on another vehicle, the fault must be in the wiring of the plug you installed

Towing package

Did you get any directions w/ brake controller? On Some vehicles you can't connect wires of the same color from vehicle to controller, they use a different color code for the wires, so it may be a wire connected improperly, even though all the colors match. countrycurt0
