I have a Sharp VL-L270U that I bought at a thrift store. I dont have a battery charger and I've tried plugging it into a 12v lead but nothing ever happened. I want to get this thing on and running.

You will be needing a charger that is particularly suited to your device.
There are, out there, hundreds of different chargers, each is different.
Having said that, even if you get the right one, the unit you bought may not work, as it may have failed.
Some thrift stores have a bucket of chargers, but to start, look with a magnifying glass at your unit to see if it will tell you exactly and precisely what amps, ohms, volts, etc. you will need.
Remember too, the tiny plug can be reversed with the positive and negative interchanged, so you must get that right also.
God bless your efforts.,

Can I recharge a 4.8 volt battery with a 3.6 charger===When I plug in the 3.6 into the 4,8 hand screw driver it works, but am I damaging something

In theory it should be okay, as long as the voltage and amps are not higher, But it will not fully charge the battery and the battery will not last as long as if you used the right charger. just don't try to charge it with anything higher in voltage and amps than the battery you could have a smoking good time there. I usually go to thrift store and find an adapter with the right voltage output, amps and plug size the tool is rated for or get one and cut the wire off the old charger and splice it into the original charger wire

Battery replacement for G Shock AWG-M100

Sounds like someone has replaced the rechargeable cell with a regular silver oxide of the same dimensions. Normally this doesn't work as the rechargeable cells have a part of the connector welded to them and normal cells don't. If you can source the rechargeable cell they are relatively easy to fit you just have to make sure the connector on the cell goes into the righ tplace on the watch.

HTC battery wont charge

If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

My battery indicator showed only two bars so I recharged. This apparently drained the battery completely and now it won't turn on!!! ARGH!!!

Either call Sony >> and see if they can fix this problem. It may be an internal error. You may just need a new battery.

Or return to the store you bought it from >> Tell them about this, and they should replace the device no problem seeing as it is an internal error and not your fault.

Good luck!

My olympus camera only clicks 7 to 8 photos and after that new battery gets empty , kindly tell me what to do for fixing this problem.

Unfortunately,it's just the nature of the beast. If your batteries are sold also as rechargables,I would get them. One certain dollar store sells 4 AA what they claim are Energizer rechargables with charger for $10.They do last a little longer.I think it's that stupid LCD display that eats the batteries. We bought a digital and I am so disappointed about the same battery issue that I am trying to sell it and I am going to fix my SLR myself. Good luck! Greg

Laptop Shuts off while reinstalling software

If you got it from a thrift store, i would recommend completely reinstalling windows, that will fix any random driver problems. However, that particular error is not entirely related to that file itself. There may be a problem with the hardware. See the site below for more help. It has steps that can help you figure out what is wrong.

I bought KODAK NiMH 2400 mAh and it isn't rechargeable when I recharge it it jus work for few minutes.

NiMH tends to have a "memory". What this means is that the batteries will get used to being only charged and discharged a certain amount. What could be happening is that the battery THINKS it is charged when it is not... or.. it THINKS it is discharged when it is not. You can try to recondition them:
  1. Charge them
  2. reset the charger and charge again
  3. put them in your device and drain them
  4. let them sit, drain them again
  5. recharge them
  6. drain them again
Do this a few times. If you don't notice an improvement, you may want to consider getting a new set of batteries - I would recommend lithium rechargeables.
