Question about Vacuums
Generic problem for all Vacuums
We have a dirt devil
Posted by smilingreb on July 24, 2008
We have a dirt devil cylinder vacuum cleaner with bag and when we plugged it in tonight it made a loud noise and a horrible smell came out of it. We could also see some blue sparks inside it. I was wondering of you could help?
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Yes, what you described is that your vacuum cleaner motor is going out and will burn up, you have 2 choices, you can either get it repaired of which would be the least expensive of the tow or you can buy a new vacuum and trade-in the old one – but it would be up to you as per which total would work for you. If you bring in to a vacuum cleaner dealer, request an estimate up front to help you in your decision, some motors can be rebuilt. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
