Dell All in One 922 Won't scan

Hello,
I cannot locate the All in One Center under Programs/Dell Printers. All that is there is the Order Ink, the Solution Center and the Users Guide. I can print but cannot scan.

I downloaded a new driver and have rebooted,etc. I have Windows XP.

    I also cannot find the All-In-One-Center for the Dell 922 "All-In-One InkJet Printer". I have checked in program files and on the installation disk that came with the computer. Instructions for scanning refer to the All-In-One-Center, but it is not on the disk. If the program is not on the installation disk, how do I get it?

    Yes, I have this problem, the "All In One" Center just is not on the disk. I have downloaded the drivers. Photoshop is also on the disk but that is not helpful. There is no "All In One Center". It isn't useful to just recommend installing from the disk when it isn't there. Does anyone know somewhere on the web to download this software so I can scan with the printer/scanner I bought.

    Just changed my pc and hooked my a920 up. It prints fine but i cannot find the all in one center on my start list. I have all the original dell cd's but it does not seem to be on there.

    Can you download the All in One Center anywhere?

Download R151371 from e.g. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R151371&SystemID=PRN_ALL_A922&servicetag=&os=WLH&osl=en&deviceid=6785&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=40&fileid=201464 Unzip it then find the folder containing it. Doubleclick on the "setup" file... don't give it up yet...Inside the folder Apps you'll find another "setup" file, doubleclick on it as well...That will install for you the "All-In-One Center"...

How do I scan with my 922 (I can print ok)

place the document to be scanned on the scanner bed.. then open start-programs-accessories-paint. In paint click on file and then from the menu click on from scanner or camera.. will automatically scan it there. if u need help setting up default scanner software.. email me at [email protected]

I recently got a new Dell computer and kept my Dell AIO 922 printer, but now the icon is lost, I cannot scan. However, I can print, but that is about it.

Do you still have the Dell AIO 922 Drivers and Utilities CD? If so, you can reinstall it on your new Dell PC with the Drivers and Utilities CD. Although you are able to see this printer in your list, the other components are missing such as the scan and fax options. If you have already reinstalled it using the CD, you should see the All In One Center under the Start Menu/ All Programs/Dell Printers/Dell AIO Printer 922 and the All In One Center should be showing there. You can right click on the All in One Center and select "send to" and choose desktop to create a shortcut or icon on your desktop. Your options for scanning and faxing should be showing here. Hope that helps!

Skipping while printing

STEP: Disconnect and Reconnect the Printer Power Supply

Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
2.

Disconnect the power supply from the back of the printer.
3.

Wait 15 seconds.
4.

Reconnect the power supply to the back of the printer.
5.

Plug the power cord back into the wall socket.
STEP: Perform a nozzle clean on the printer.
Additional Information

The following steps will guide you through running a nozzle clean on the 922 printer:

1. Press the Scan Button and the Up Button at the same time to enter diagnostic mode.
2. Use the Up Button or Down Button to navigate to Clean on the LCD and press Menu to begin the nozzle clean.
3. Check the nozzle clean printout and make sure that it is clear of defects and that all expected color bars exist on the page.

STEP: Clear NVRAM on the 922 Printer

Ink Cartridge and Print Quality Issues on Inkjet Printer

STEP: Verify the Paper Settings and Change the Quality Level

1. Click the Start button, point to Control Panel, and then click the Printers and Other Hardware menu item.

2. Click the Printers and Faxes menu item.

3. Right-click the Dell AIO Printer Model Number icon, where Model Number is the model of the printer to troubleshoot.

4. Click the Properties menu and the Printing Preferences menu option.

5. Click the Quality/Copies tab.
6. Click the Paper Setup button.

7. Choose the appropriate paper type based on what is being used in the printer.

STEP: Verify the Printer Ink Levels
Additional Information

Quality problems are most often caused by low ink levels or one or more colors in the color cartridge being completely depleted. Perform the following steps to determine the current ink levels and to check for missing colors.

1. Click the Start button, point to All Programs, and then click Dell Printers.

2. Click the model number of your Dell printer.

3. Click Dell Printer Solution Center.

4. On the main window of the solution center you will see two ink tanks in the lower right hand corner. Verify that the ink cartridges are not empty

To ensure that the quality problem is not caused by one color missing print a test page and verify that the colors in the CMYK boxes appear correct. To do so, perform the following actions from the solution center window:

1. Click the Maintenance button on the left-hand side of the window.

2. Click Print Test Page.

3. Verify that the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and blacK colors are printing without streaks.

Dell 922 printer alignment problem-

try this...

Aligning Ink Cartridges Your printer automatically aligns the ink cartridges when they are installed or replaced. To verify your ink cartridges are aligned, you can print an alignment page. After you close the printer unit, press the Menu button. The alignment page begins printing. During printing, the operator panel display reads Alignment Page Printing. When complete, the message reads Auto Alignment Complete. Your ink cartridges are now aligned for optimal print quality.
You may also need to align ink cartridges when characters are not properly formed or are not aligned at the left margin, or when vertical or straight lines appear wavy.
To align the ink cartridges:
  1. Load plain paper. For more information, see Loading Paper.

  2. Click Start® Programs or All Programs® Dell Printers® Dell Photo AIO Printer 922® Dell Printer Solution Center.

  3. Click the Maintenance tab

  4. Click Align to fix blurry edges.

  5. Click Print.

The ink cartridges align when the page prints.

Scaning . . . Scanning. . .. not scanned

Not sure if this is the correct way around, but it worked.  Go to Start --> All programs --> Dell Printers --> Dell Photo AIO Printer 922 --> Dell All-in-one center

From here, you can determine and change your scan settings as needed;  then click "scan now" (thus by-passing the button on the actual AIO machine).  This scanned photos into my picture program so I could email to all the grandparents!
