you might be better off increasing the pre amp gain before notching out frequencies. The area of hiss will be in the area of 5k to 8k which will harm the sound of your vocal recordings as that is also the area of clarity and intelligibility. my existing phones work fine but the new phone is really weird. tested Ok at the supplier's store and perfect at my friends' houses. But once tested at any of the phone outlet in my house, after keying the first 3 numbers....PLEASE CHECK YOUR NUMBER AND DIAL AGAIN etc... the scenario telling me my phone service in my house is OK and the new phone tested OK at other locations.
