Hi!
As I see here what you have is a switch. What you need is a router. A switch has no capability to share an internet connection between two PCs. I suggest purchasing a router.

Why would my Trendnet Print server TE100-P1U not be seen by all computers on the network even though it can be pinged. I can't install it on these computers even though it can be pinged

May requires software loaded on every computer - software that will create the non-std print server "port".
More expensive print servers like the HP jetdirect print server use std tcp/ip ports.

Cisco access point

Hi,
How to configure wireless access point using a laptop
Wireless technology makes connecting to the Internet possible from anywhere within the range of the network. Unfortunately, not all Internet-capable devices have wireless technology, and many still require an Ethernet port connection. If you have a laptop with a wireless card and an Internet connection, you can make the laptop a wireless access point and share that connection with other devices, whether your laptop runs a Windows or OSX operating system. Windows computers allow other devices to access the wireless network via a physical connection to the laptop, while OSX computers allow AirPort equipped devices to connect as well, creating a second wireless bubble for the network.

Instruction:
WINDOWS
1 Turn on the laptop and the device with which you will share the connection. Ensure the laptop's wireless card is turned on and you have an Internet connection.

2 Connect an Ethernet cord to the port on the laptop, and the other end to the receiving device. You need to make the connection first, or you will not be able to access the sharing options for the connection.

3 Open the list of network connections on the computer. In Windows 7 and Vista, access this list by typing "Network Connections" into the Start menu search bar and pressing "Enter." In Windows XP, click on "Network Connections" in the Network and Sharing Center section of the Control Panel.

4 Right click on the wireless connection and select "Properties," then navigate to the Sharing tab. This tab will not appear unless both devices are connected.

5 Check the box marked "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection." Click "OK" to save the changes.
OSX
1 Click on the Apple menu and select "System Preferences." Click the "Sharing" option, then choose "Internet Sharing."

2 Select the Airport and wireless network in the "Share your connection from:" drop-down menu.

3
Select an output format for the connection in the "To computers using:" drop-down menu. Choose "Ethernet" for a physical connection or "AirPort" for wireless broadcasting.

4
Turn on the device you wish to receive the connection. Connect the devices with an Ethernet cable, or turn on the receiving device's AirPort card and connect wirelessly.

How do i use my samsung c5212 as a modem to pc and to connect to internet.

Follow the below mentioned steps : 1. Connect the Samsung cell phone and computer. If you are connecting via USB, connect one end of the USB cable to your Samsung phone and the other end to your computer. It may take a few seconds for the proper drivers for the Samsung phone to install. If pairing via Bluetooth, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your Samsung phone and start a search for devices on your Bluetooth-enabled computer by right-clicking the Bluetooth icon in your taskbar.
2 Launch Internet Sharing, found in the Start menu on your Samsung cell phone. Open the application.
3 Configure Internet Sharing. The status menu should read "Disconnected." Under the PC Connection setting, select the method you will use to connect your cell phone to the computer--USB and Bluetooth PAN are the choices. You shouldn't need to change anything under Network Connection, unless a network other than is showing on the display.
4 Start the Internet Sharing connection. On your Samsung device, press the Connect soft key. It may take up to 30 seconds for the connection to be negotiated, during which the status line may say "Check USB cable connection"; this is normal.
5 Connect the computer to the Internet sharing phone. If your computer and phone are paired via USB, no further pairing is needed. You will see the shared Internet connection as a wired connection in your Network and Sharing control panel on the computer. If you are connected to the Internet Sharing application via a Bluetooth personal area network, the computer must be synced to the phone. Right-click on the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar and select "Connect to a PAN" or similar, based on the version of Windows you are using. A list of all Bluetooth PAN connections within range is shown; select your Samsung phone. The PAN connection will be negotiated, and the Internet connection will be shared.

Trendnet TE100-P1U v2.0, USB light goes dark.

A couple of things I would try:

  • Start the Print Server, then insert the USB cable.
  • Plug in a self-powered USB port, and plug the printer cable into that. That could help if the print server is having trouble with the amount of power drawn by the printer.
