a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have bought a Netbook. May I [as my second PC] use the McAfee on my other PC to also safe guard the new one?

If you mean can you install the same copy, it depends what licence you bought.
If it was a single user licence, then no, but it may be a 3 user licence, in which case you can.
I think it may be a single user licence,
you could try free security, most of the free security is as good if not better than some of the paid for software.
Try Microsoft security essentials, Comodo, Avira or AVG9 free

Need Office and/or Antivirus product codes ?

When a new PC is sold, retailers install limited licence software.

Microsoft Office is usually one, your antivirus software will probably be another.

This means that, usually after 3, 6 or 12 months the licence runs out and you have to buy a new one.

These are not cheap and invariably you're only supposed to use it on one PC (EULA agreement) and the trouble is, as they hope, you've gotten used to these packages, don't know about or are scared to use other software.

If you want to carry on with MS office, there's probably a box or tab somewhere on the pop up that invites to to click on to buy a licence, if no just google microsoft office and you should get to the website.

The same applies to Antivirus software.

Shop around, there's plenty of sites selling this stuff, and voucher codes which offer a discount. But when you see the prices, you'll probably think that its all a bit expensive, as do I and many others.

I'd recommend logging onto "" download and install "Open Office", its compatible with and does all the MS office does and more. Its also free.

Other programmes worth downloading are "Ccleaner" (Cleans web rubbish off your PC) "Microsoft security essentials" gives protection against malware and viruses. AVG ( Excellent Antivirus software) and VLC media player (Plays all those files Windows media player doesn't), all good and all free.

PC freezes on boot-up

Try booting the thing in Safe Mode. Upon startup (after the Acer logo goes) press F8 several times. You will be offered a menu select Safe Mode (at the very top of the list). If the system reaches the desktop, you can repair your Windows. For the three fixes below you will need to go Start Menu>Run...
1) Write: fixmbr, and press ENTER.
2) Write: fixboot, and press ENTER.
3) Write: chkdsk, and press ENTER.
(The later will take several minutes, but you can read what stage it is doing).
