Question about Kenmore 41389 Electric Double Oven

1 Answer

F8 code We had the electricity go out for 1-2 minutes because of a storm. Usually the oven click just blinks. This time a red code "F8" appeared and the oven will not do anything. I tried to clear it off to reset & nothing. Kim

It is a " Lock Switches" Display you can try to disconnect power and resetting. But it is possible with the power outage you may need to replace

Frigidaire Gallery series model GLEB30T8CBA key pad not working

Hello Dana, thank you for your post!
From my understanding your Frigidaire oven is displaying an error code of "F8" and your keypad is not working properly. An "F8" error stands for runaway temperature (overheating). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting the power cord for at least ten minutes.

If that does not help correct your issue then you could have a problem with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would suggest having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Turbo chef is not heating up, coming up on it reads, f8 low heat

the problem with f8 like you have said LOW HEAT
, IF the oven does not warm up in time , which is usually 8 min , it goes into f8 fault code
now please check the hi limit button , on the back of the oven , left hand side, bottom corner, if it reset and starts heating, please check bottom element and temp reading IR , IF it rises very quickly and the elemnt is glowing red , please switch off the unit at the power point , you have problem with the solid state relay, if the temp is slowly rising , then you might only have an issue with the hi limit reset button thermostat, FIRST JUST CHECK THE RESET BUTTON

I pressed the self clean option and the oven locked but every two minutes an alarm sounds and the code F8 appears. The cancel option stops the alarm temporarily. How do I either clean the oven or cancel...

F8 code means your door latch assy needs to be replaced. Two options:
1. Turn it off on the circuit braker
2. Replace the door latch.
It will continue to try to lock itself most likely, as door latch microswitch logic is messed up.

I have Fridigaire double oven part# PLEB27T8ACA with F8 code prob

wow, that is so weird...i was just getting ready to write the exact same thing. this last time mine beeped, i just kept letting it beep for several minutes. if kept on. i then went in and pressed all the buttons except for cancel and nothing happened. then i pressed the oven light button. the beeping stopped. not sure if it's coincidence or if that was what i was supposed to press. i will keep messing with the buttons and let you know if i figure it out. i will dread if it beeps all night long.

F3 and F2 Error Codes

If hitting clear/cancel won't clear it try unplugging and then plug it back in. My guess is the oven control is bad. Here are the fault codes for this model.

Failure
Code
Condition Check/Repair F0 or F1 Failed transistor in control If code cannot be cancelled, replace the Electronic Range Control (ERC) or touch pad F2 Oven over temp - exceeded 590F with door in unlocked position or 990F with door locked If actual temp condition occurred, look for welded relay contacts or high resistance connection or any cause in the oven temperature sensor circuit F3 Open oven temperature sensor circuit Measure oven temperature sensor circuit at oven temperature sensor (should be approx 1100 ohms at room temp); check for cut or pinched wire or loss of contact F4 Shorted oven temperature sensor circuit Same as above; check for melted connector or both leads shorted to ground F8 Component failure within Electronic Range Control (ERC) effecting temp processing circuits Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC) F9 Problem with door lock circuit such as pinched wire between Electronic Range Control (ERC) and door lock switch Check wiring and test operation of switch
