ACULASER CX11NF Photoconductor reset - chip?

Hi, our ACULASER CX11NF says the PCU needs replacing. I see that one can buy reset chips online. Where is the chip on the PCU? Is there a way to bypass the chip, or install a fuse to avoid buying a new PCU, when it is running fine?

Thanks

Has anyone tried the reset chip? Does it work without damaging the printer?

The reset chip will not provide you with a long term solution to your problem. The photoconductor unit is now full of waste toner and the photoconductive drum, prime charge roller and wiper blade are all worn, this is the cause of the message. Your only real and the correct solution is to replace the Photoconductor unit with a new one. Remember that this is part of the consumable set for this printer and is therefor costed in as part of the cost per page.
Should you proceed with the replacement chip, you will be opening yourself to deminishing quality print and eventual failure of the unit.

Epson ACULASER CX11NF we have to replace the PCU every 3 months,

The photoconductor (PCU) is used whenever you print anything. They should last between 10,000 copies (colour) and 20,000 copies (black only), so roughly 15,000 pages. If yours is going through them quicker it could indicate that there is a problem, try giving Epson Customer support a call and ask for advice.

Replacement parts

I have same printer and C1100 also.I looked for the photoconductor parts.Opened photoconductor unit in pieces n reassembled it. there are 2 parts where useless toner is kept in PCU empty them by unscrewing these two parts. The the photoconductor rod is very sensitive and if it needs to be changed I advice buy if not new then refurbished one complete PCU.I know someone who do refurbished PCu and in it uses new photoconductor rod.other then Photocconductor rod all is long life if you empty those two pockets in PCU.refurbished will cost you 70 GBP and if you are looking for that part then so far I am unable to locate it in the market n 70 GBP is not bad for almost new like PCU.

Epson C1100 Photoconductor kill chip

You can buy a new chip , empty the waste toner and then keep printing. Its only if the message is "replace photocnductor " though..

PCU

The kill chip on my C1100 is actually on the side of the photoconductor. Open the top lid, pull up the orange handle on the right, and pull the photoconductor out. The killer chip is on the left hand side of the photoconductor. It is possible to buy new chips for about £15. I tried this, and it quickly died :( genuine photoconductors should last for thousands of pages, so are worth the money.

You really need to keep an eye on the photoconductor gauge on the printer screen on your computer. Mine got very low, and I hadn't noticed. Best to be prepared !

Epson schematic (e511 error)

Hi-

Try reseating all the toners, as well as the photoconductor unit. If all fails do a reset using the panel. Call manufacturer for 562-276-4382 for step by step instruction.

Hope this helps

Photoconductor defective

Nope. If it says it wants a new one, it needs a new one. If you try to extend the usage from the old one you will end up with rubbish prints and possible problems in other areas.

Bite the bullet and give it a new one.
