Check the charger with a volt meter to see if the output of voltage is correct. The chargers specifications will be on it telling you the output range. If all checks out well replace the computers battery
OK.... #1 problem is that Everex is out of business... which is bad... but the good news is that you have someone out there (like me!) who knows a few tricks!
For the drivers:
try driverguide.com... you must subscribe (for free) but it is a good "hub" for at least going in the right direction for drivers. There are many places to find them, but since your going to be using someone else's computer to get online for awhile, try driverguide to save time)
For the headphones:
Did they ever work? Either: plug them in, go to Start --> Control Panel --> Audio --> and "force" the "ding" of the computer by adjusting the volume on both the main and midi controls (I know, it sounds strange, but many PC's seem to lose audio when they hybernate or are logged-off, and this is one way to "force" the audio to work externally)
Or, if it's an old laptop, chances are the the solder-points have been wiggled enough to be loose. Easy to solder, hard to get to. If you can crack open the case, you can fix it on your own (just keep the soldering iron FAR FAR AWAY from any of the other components)
And then you can download a program called "Driver genius" from link
it is a trial program for 15 days
dont worry we only need it for 5 minutes
Install & run the program & in the windows click on the update the drivers
It will check & it will give the window with the drives that needs to be updated & it will not update a it is a trial one.
So you just right click on the driver name, you will get a message called 'copy url address 1' copy that & open the orbit downloader & click on the create new download & paste the link the drivers will be downloaded for free.
Some sites give these drivers only for the money & we cannot be able to find them from the free sites, so i think this would be a nice trick.
