This sounds like a battery issue. but it could be a charging problem too. check to make sure the charger is putting out the correct voltage to charge the battery,, if it is - then I would just buy a new battery and the drill will for fine.

My opel corsa utility 1.4 bakkie isnot starting. sounds like a flat battery but when I check my battery I get 12 volts

Test the battery for load not volts. Use a load tester. If it falls below 9volts under load replace battery. If the battery is older than 3 years old replace it. A bad battery will damage the alternator (full field condition).

Can i exchange batteries in a 12v cordless shop source drill?

I will interpret this as "can I get replacement batteries for my 12V cordless shop source drill?" probably not. Most manufacturers phased out 12 volt tools years ago, replacing them with 18 or 20 volt tools , though a few people still sell dewalt 12 volt batteries.

My makita batteries nolonger charge

Lithium batteries do have a life span determined by how many times the battery is discharged and recharged and how hard it is worked on the tool. Batteries get hot while charging and discharging and heat is what ages batteries. Lithium batteries, depending on usage, will last from one to three years. I've seen some last five years but that's rare. They also have numerous cells and a circuit board that can go bad and kill the battery. Chargers are designed to check the battery's condition and won't charge a battery if it detects something wrong. If your battery is under one year old, it's covered by the warranty. If it's over, you'll have to buy a new battery.

I have 2 DeWalt Lithium-ion batteries Apprx. 4 years old, charged 3 times...won't charge now

Either bad batteries or a bad charger. You can use a multimeter to test for DC voltage output in the charger.

Will a 12 volt slide battery work in my 9.6 volt Black & Decker Firestorm drill. The 9.6 volt batteries don't seem to be made any more. I don't think I paid a lot more for the original drill...

This close to father's day you should be able to buy a new drill for about the same as a battery. The 12v would overheat the motor if you ran it for an extended period.

Cordless drill - model KC9682C - probably 8 years old. Stopped working shortly after a battery re-charge. I'm guessing it's the battery. It charges for a few minutes then the red light goes off. Could it...

If light is on charger the charge is fine. You could verify using voltmeter it should put out = to what it says on the back of charger 12-18 volts or so.
Most likely battery is shot after 8 years they just dont' hold a charge anymore and they often will only charge for a few minutes when the chip in the computer tells the charger to shut off due to defective battery.
compare prices of new drills and new batterys sometimes new drill is not much more. Try ebay and harbor freight for ultra low priced batteries.

I have a 5 year old EU300is that would not start with or without the battery. I went through all the usual such as gas, plug, oil, etc. The battery showed 12 volts, however, when tested further it would not hold a load. I bought a new American made battery and now the unit runs fine.

Very little juice in freshly charged batteries

have you tried the batterys in any other tool?

you would also need to check the voltage of the batterys they should be at least 18 volts (19 prefered)

then if the batterys do not show charged you would need to make sure the battery charger is putting out voltage.

After that contact your closest Ryobi service center we would check that for free to let you know what you need, I am sure you local place would do the same.
