I have copied the instructions on how to set the self timer on your camera below. I hope this helps! ● Selecting the self-timer 1. Rotate the MODE DIAL to select a RECORDING mode with the exception of VOICE RECORDING mode. 2. Press the SELF-TIMER button until the desired mode indicator displays on the LCD monitor. A 10 second, 2 second or double self-timer icon appears on the LCD monitor. In Movie Clip mode, only the 10-second self-timer will work. •2SEC self-timer ( ) : Pressing the shutter button will allow an interval of 2 seconds before the image is taken. •10SEC self-timer ( ) : Pressing the shutter button will allow an interval of 10 seconds before the image is taken. •Double self-timer ( ) : A picture will be taken after about 10 seconds and 2 seconds later a second picture will be taken. When using the flash, the 2-second self-timer may be delayed for longer than 2 seconds depending on the flash charge time. 3. try to check this path: Press the Menu button, then press the top/bottom arrows on the Jog dial to select DRIVE. Press the right arrow and press the top/bottom arrows to select. Press the left arrow on the Jog dial to confirm the setting. If you take a picture without pressing the OK button, the setting will be valid until the Menu is canceled. To take a picture using the selftimer, when the shutter is released, the Selftimer/Remote control signal lights for approx. 10 seconds then blinks for approx. 2 seconds before the picture is taken. To stop the activated selftimer, press the Menu button.
yes it dose you have to press the right arrow > button and on the left side of the sceen it will have a little pic of a clock kind of thing and you can set it for two pics or 1 in 15 sec or a quick self timer pic that will give you 10 secs but you hae to press the button a cuple of times to get diffent timers setting

Self-timer( ) / Right( ) button
When the menu is displayed on the LCD monitor, pressing the Right button makes
the cursor shift to the sub menu.
When the menu is not displayed on the LCD monitor, the RIGHT button operates as
the Self-timer( ) button. This function is used when the photographer would also
like to be in the image.
Selecting the self-timer
1. Rotate the mode dial to the STILL IMAGE/ MOVIE CLIP

Basically you can have the camera selected to any mode on the mode dial - press Ok - right arrow to Mode Menu - highlight camera tab and left arrow over and then down arrow to the symbol that looks like a clock - this is the self timer option. right arrow over and make sure you select it to on - and then press ok.

On page 37 of the basic manual, available as a download from the canon website, it says that if you click on the function menu button. That is the button on the back of your camera in the circle. It is between the lightning bolt and the flower. If you press that you will see at the bottom of your screen the option to change you self timer to 2 seconds, 10 seconds or C = a customized time you can set yourself.
