Dell inspiron 6400 touchpad scroll not working with window 7 ultimate

It may be that you have not got the updated driver for it. if you on dells support website you can find drivers for your dell.
heres a link to dell site you should try trackpaddriverurl
click the download button and install the driver, or you can perform a windows update that should find the right drivers.
i dont think dell offers windows 7 drivers for your machine but the vista ones should work fine. but if not go to synaptics website here and scroll down for the newest drivers for the trackpad (youd want the xp/vist/windows 7 32bit)

No ethernet drive ? where to find it

The driver for your Ethernet Controller is available on the Dell Official Website.
First of all, download and install this (click here) [open the link and click download, you'll be presented with another windows to select the the download mode, select "Download Via Internet Browser" (if you can download using the dell download manager, go ahead, but if you are not sure, just opt for Internet Browser otherwise you may have problem with it.)] and download will begin automatically. Install the program (it's also possible that you can only extract at the first installation process, in that case you'll need to reinstall it from the directory/folder where the extract is saved [note the location before you start extracting]) After you are done with the first installation, now install the Ethernet driver (click here to download windows xp driver). Since you didn't mention the Operating System, I can't make it specific, but if the operating system installed on your laptop is windows vista, (click here). [follow the same procedure to download and install as mentioned in the first install.]

If you need further help, let me know with more details about your system and the operating system installed on it.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Cant get any drivers to work on my dell after i reformatted the drive and re installed windows xp. I have a dell inspiron E1505 and the only driver I could get to work from dells website is the nVidia...

There are several different drivers listed for each category under your laptop model and Windows XP:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSPIRONI6400/E1505&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

You will not be able to install all of these drivers. You need to pinpoint which items your laptop came with. To do so, you may be able to look at your manual or order history and determine what exactly went into your computer.
