Best I can tell, the Rad 5S is out of warranty, and you appear to be having a problem with the image inverter.

#1 Try the monitor on another system and ensure that the issue is the monitor, and not the video card it is attached to as the point of failure.

#2 If the monitor appears to be failing, contact a local TV repair shop on a repair estimate. Likely answer is that you can buy a larger better monitor cheaper than you can get the one you have repaired, even if the parts cost is low, due to the bench fee/labot cost of repairs.

Here is one site I like for monitors:

My kds k-92mdwb monitor goes black after a few seconds. How can I fix this?

brendadeese, You might be able to repair it. Well your husband or boyfriend maybe. If good with a soldering iron, solder-wick, solder, and $5-$12 in new filter capacitors. You should have visited YOUTUBE for video clips of "LCD monitor disassembly"and "LCD monitor repair" to see just what is involved with making BLACK SCREEN of DEATH go away. Most LCD monitors (98%) use same basic backlighting technology. Here are some repair options for you to ponder over! A. If KDS has a swapout program for BSoD units try it first! B. Contract out the REFURBISHMENT work to reputable local firm that knows exactly what is needed to do the work properly. C. Trade in for new unit. But remember that the tech in the back of the store is going to repair your unit with a little luck and have a nice monitor to give to his kids on Christmas, and won"t need to do it again till Christmas 2011 or 12. I would also recomend a visit to to learn what may be the cause of your BSoD. FYI If K92MDWb had a crisp, bright, colorful image just prior to BSoD, try doing the flashlight test so you will know if the units "switch-mode-power-supply" is in "full" or "partial" shutdown mode. 12fixlouie If this was of some help, please rate on fixya.

My monitor stays on for 6 seconds

You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictues and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and -connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Kds model 780 monitor no signal, power button does not work

My monitor does the same thing at times and sometimes shows "No Signal" and at other times the screen will maintain the images but the backgound color switches to mustard yellow. In each of these cases I have been able to solve the problem by unplugging the power cord from the electical outlet for about three seconds and plugging it back in. I have a KDS model 780 LCD.

Have you checked your video card or adapter?
Check the settings on the monitor itself.
If you didn't find the problem go into system properties (windows logo + pause)/hardware/device manager. Expand monitor/right click and see if your new monitor is listed. Is there a yellow or red symbol next to it? This would mean a problem, then right click symbol/properties and error will be shown.
Could be a memory issue.
Don't forget to try a "working monitor". This will narrow it down a bit.
