SanSisk MP3 player won't come on.

My sansa express will come on and show the SanDisk name and then immediately goes dead. I've tried to do a hard reset and get nothing. What else can I do?

Put it on a steady surface like on the ground and take the largest hammer (metal one will work fine) and hit it as hard as you can...All my problems are resolved!

Sansa clip went dead

Slide the power button on your SanDisk Sansa MP3 player up.

  • 2 Hold the power button on your Sansa in the up position for about 15 seconds. This action serves as a powering down of the Sansa device.
  • 3 Wait for your Sansa MP3 player to restart and let go of the power button. Actions taken during your last operation since powering down normally have been deleted and your player is now reset.

Going to item 13 "Sansa player not recognized by the computer":

When the player is brand new, click on the link in the opened page in the page top or use next direct link:

I have a sandisk Sansa Express MP3 player that is a couple of yrs old and I have had no problems with it. When I try to turn it on it displays SanDisk in the window but will not turn on. When I connect it...

First, try a soft reset. Do this by pressing the center button and the up volume button simultaneously and try turning it on. If that does not work for you, you will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work.

Not sure but it could be dead, but dont worry till you do a hard reset by pressing and holding down the "select(Square button)"and "volume up" buttons.

I just got mine today and been looking through the sandisk forum.

    Hope that helps bye :)

You can do a hard reset by pressing and holding down the Select button (it's a silver square on mine) while pressing the volume + and - buttons simultaneously once.

Let me know if this helps. It didn't seem to fix my problem!

Try doing a hard reset on a Sansa m250:
    1. Turn off the Sansa. Just pull the battery out for a second and then reinstalling the battery without pushing any further buttons.
    2. Plug the Sansa into a computer4.gif, and open "My Documents" in the computer.
    3. Open the Sansa file as if it were a drive, then go to the "MUSIC4.gif Specific storage" file.
    4. Right click the "MUSIC Specific storage" file, and press "Format."
This should hard reset the Sansa m250. This solution has worked for me.
I do not know if this will work on other Sansa m200 type .mp3 players.
