I have a Husqvarna Viking Emerald 183. I can't get it to feed fabric. The footer will move back and forth, but not up and down. So it's making stitches, but will only feed if I manually pull the fabric through. Any thoughts??

Do you have the feed dogs dropped? Check the feed dog and also the pressure on the presser foot. This knob is located at the left on the top of the machine. The normal setting is 4.

I have an Emerald 203 When I hit the presser foot, the wheel goes round and needle moves up and down but the material does nt move

it sounds like the feed dogs are not working, if you have a manual
check and see if there is a lever to move the feed dogs up and down
and see if lever will move the feed dogs, if that lever doesn't then
the feed dogs will have to be checked.
here is a link for a manual if you don't have one

Husqvarna model 183 foot control no power

anytime the machine does not respond like it's suppose to then it needs to be checked, the foot pedal could have gone bad, or the the sewing machine plug where the foot pedal goes may have gone out

The bobbin thread is bird nesting on my viking emerald 183. i've only had one sewing class so far. how do I insert the bobbin correctly?

Make sure the bobbin is extended out of the bobbin case via the tension spring mechanism in the bobbin case. This provides tension for the bobbin unit. Check to make sure the upper thread has not "jumped out" of the take-up lever so that when the needle first touches the fabric the thread is still taunt and when the needle enters the fabric a small loop is formed right above the fabric and the eye of the needle. If these tips do not help suggest that you take it to an authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service. The bobbin is bird nesting on my viking emerald

Check that it is threaded correctly (both top and bottom) making sure that the upper thread is in the takeup lever and the bobbin is guided through the tension spring in the bobbin case. Watch the needle as you slowly turn the handwheel counter clockwise (toward you) and the needle point touches the fabric (make sure presser foot is down). Is the thread still relatively taunt? If it is loose, the upper thread tension unit does not have enough tension. Check the areas where the thread goes and make sure you remove any loose threads or fluff which could be inhibiting the tension discs from closing over the thread. If the tension unit still is not tightening enough, the tension unit may need to be replaced or the circuit board replaced. If everything is ok in the upper thread area, now look at the bobbin area. With no fabric, watch as the needle enters the bobbin area. Does it go down and the upper thread catch the bobbin thread and pulls it to the surface? Check for anything preventing the bobbin thread from being pulled up to the surface through the needle plate. If you have still not been able to resolve the problem suggest you take it to an authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service. Good luck.

Fabric stuck when sewing

Several things could be happening. It may be the hook/needle timing. Or it could be the feeddogs are not moving (that's the toothy looking part under the presser foot that moves the fabric). Recommend removing thread and bobbin (needle and presser foot). Slowly move the handwheel and put your finger on top of the feeddogs to determine if they are moving back and forth and are high enough to move the fabric. Check to make sure you had not manually lowered the feed dogs. You may need to take it to an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for their assistance.
