I just bought an Olympus xD-picture card M1GB but when I put the card in the camera it said Card not initialized how do I do that

I have a similar problem. I bought an Olympus 2GB XD card and did format it, which worked. But when I turned off the camera and turned it back on, I got the same error message 'card not initialized'. Even when I format it again, it keeps happening. Now I don't know what to do. 1

WizJust format the card and use format option available in camera manu.
