Question about HP Pavillion ZV6000 Notebook
I was using my hp pavillion zv6000 laptop and the screen went black. I thought it just prematurely went into hibranation so I fiddled with the switch that is puched when you close the monitor and turns the screen off.
This brought the regular screen back but in about 5 min it died again and it is now a very very dark dim screen where I can barely make out anything.
Thanks in advance.
I had this problem, and it was the inverter - a $20 part. I got it off of ebay and replaced it myself. Or you could just plug in an external monitor and forget about it....

This will be a problem with either the screen inverter or screen backlight. You will need to take it to a shop for diagnosis, in order to find out which one it is. If it turns out to be the backlight, then the entire screen will have to be replaced. They are considered a sealed unit, and the backlight can't be changed out.
