I would like to share with you my experience, I went to www.zescode.com to buy a key, to my surprise, their attitude is very good, but the key work is normal, there is very little money I spent, very happy the first purchase and recommend it to you.

Hi Pamjh,

Can you please be a bit more specific?

Please make sure that you are entering the first 5 digits of the product key. Besides the first 5 digits of the product key of MS Office licence is normally alphanumeric and is not fully numeric. It is also a 25 digit long alpha numeric key.

If the above doesnt help, please provide more details.

Posted on Jul 24, 2008

  • I think I have found what the problem is... May be your default font size is big and is not allowing you to enter more than 4 digits of the product key.

You can do either of these to solve this:

    1. Change the font size to the normal (default) size. This can be done through the Windows control panel or by right clicking the desktop and selecting the appropriate option (Personalize in Vista). You can also copy the full activation key and paste into the Activation dialog box including the dashes.

    2. If your key is a has been written on the CD/DVD box, then you can try by typing into another program, like WordPad or NotePad and then Copy Paste it.

HOW CAN I REPLACE MY PRODUCT KEY?

Note: The following steps involve modification of registry key values, which may corrupt your Windows if done incorrectly. Backup registry first before performing the workaround.
  1. Close all Microsoft Office programs.
  2. Click on Start button, then click on Run.
  3. Type "regedit" (without quotes) in the Run text box, and click OK or press Enter.
  4. Locate and then click the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
Inside, you will find another subkey that resembles the following subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration\{30120000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}
Tip: For user with 64-bit (x64) Windows, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\12.0 instead.
  5. Optional: Backup this registry branch by exporting the Registration subkey to a file, just in case the new product key does not work and you have to restore back the old product key. To export the registry, right click on the Registration subkey and click on Export, and follow the on-screen prompt to enter a file name for the registry file and choose a location to store it.
  6. Under the Registration subkey, there may be several Globally Unique Identifiers (GUID) subkey that contain a combination of alphanumeric characters. Each GUID is specific to a program that is installed on your computer. If you find additional subkeys that reference Microsoft 12.0 registration, then click and open each GUID subkey to view and identify the Office product version by the ProductName registry entry in the right pane. For example:
    ProductName=Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007
  7. After you find the GUID subkey that contains your Office product or program which you want to remove the existing product license key or registration details, delete the following registry entries by right clicking on the registry entry in the GUID subkey, click Delete, and then click Yes: • DigitalProductID
    • ProductID
  8. Exit Registry Editor.
  9. Run or open an Office application program, such as Microsoft Word or Excel or Outlook. Office 2007 will prompt you to enter a new 25-character product key.
  10. Type in the valid and genuine product key, and then click OK.
  11. Then when prompted to choose your preferred type of Microsoft Office 2007 installation, press on "Install Now".
  12. Microsoft Office 2007 will be updated with new product CD key or volume license key, and ready for activation (if it's a non-VLK serial) or use.
Note: If you're having problem with your new Office 2007 product key, simply double click on the backup registry .reg file created at the optional step above to restore the registry settings of the Registration subkey so that the original value can be imported back to the registry.

Microsoft Office came preinstall on my PC running Windows 7. When I try to use Word, I am asked for an product key. Where do I find the product key since Word was preinstalled and I have nothing to refer...

You may need to alter or change Microsoft Office 2007 (aka 2007 Microsoft Office System programs and suites) product license key or volume license key (VLK) which also known as serial number or CD key. You can modify or change product key for 2007 Microsoft Office programs or suites by first uninstall or remove Microsoft Office and then reinstalling the business productivity suite. However, you can follow the following steps in order to reset and change the Microsoft Office 2007 product serial key without the need to uninstall or reinstall 2007 Office system suites.

Note: The following steps involve modification of registry key values, which may corrupt your Windows if done incorrectly. Backup registry first before performing the workaround.
  1. Close all Microsoft Office programs.
  2. Click on Start button, then click on Run.
  3. Type “regedit” (without quotes) in the Run text box, and click OK or press Enter.

    • ProductID
  8. Exit Registry Editor.

Can i have the product key entry window

Click any one of the application of ms.office. The product key entry window appears if your product key is not been entered by you before.

If so, you have entered and microsoft have blacklisted the key you have entered, then that window wont appear and you cant access the application.Your copy of the product is not genuine. Purchase a new copy of genuine product and install again.

This sucks!

  1. Close all Office programs.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. Locate and then click the following subkey, depending on your version of Windows and of Office:

    32-bit versions 2007 Office system
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration

    Office 2003
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Registration

    Office XP
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Registration64-bit versions 2007 Office system
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration

    Office 2003
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Registration

    Office XP
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Registration
  4. Export the Registration subkey.

You can make a backup of the values under the Registration subkey if the new product key does not work. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Right-click the Registration subkey, and then click Export.
    2. In the Save in list, select a location to save the registration entries.
    3. In the File name box, type a name for the .reg file that you want to export, and then click Save.

Note In steps 4a through 4c, you created a backup of the Registration subkey. You can restore the Registry settings of the Registration subkey by double-clicking the .reg file that you saved in step 4c. The contents of the .reg file are automatically exported to the Registry.
  5. Under the Registration subkey, there may be several Globally Unique Identifiers (GUID) that contain a combination of alphanumeric characters. Each GUID is specific to a program that is installed on your computer.

Click a GUID. Then, view the version of Office that is listed in the right pane for the Productname registry entry. After you find the GUID that contains the version of your Office program, follow these steps:
    1. Right-click the DigitalProductID registry entry, click Delete, and then click Yes.
    2. Right-click the ProductID registry entry, click Delete, and then click Yes.

For more information about how to identify the correct GUID for the version of the Office suite or program that you have installed on your computer, click the following article numbers to view the articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 928516 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928516/ ) Description of the numbering scheme for product code GUIDs in 2007 Office suites and programs 832672 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832672/ ) Description of numbering scheme for product code GUIDs in Office 2003 302663 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302663/ ) Description of the numbering scheme for product code GUIDs for Office XP programs
  6. Close Registry Editor.
  7. Open an Office program, such as Microsoft Word. When you receive a message that prompts you for the product key, type the correct product key, and then click OK.
