Go online to LG, seek customer and technical support to resolve the firmware issue, since they are the ones who provided the update. They must have a fix for this problem.

Hi,
There is an recall from Toshiba for "bad" problem in Toshiba SD-3980 dvd player.

"Toshiba is committed to customer service and to continuously improving the quality of its products. It has come to our attention that certain DVD players bearing the model numbers SD-3980 and SD-K750 may at some point in their life stop playing discs due to a component part failure. In such case, the error message "bad" will be shown on the unit's display. Affected units will have "SU2" at the end of the model name (e.g., SD-3980-SU2), which can be found on the back of the unit. If you own either of these models and experience the issue described above, please contact Toshiba Customer Solutions at 1-800-631-3811 for information on how to obtain a replacement unit."

Click Toshiba Support link for original message, please contact Toshiba and above number for replacement unit.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

Picture is blue. Just connected to JVC TV with Dish network. It plays with good sound, but picture remains blue and grainy. Thanks!

Hello!!! My name is Becki Barned, with DISH Network customer service!! I hope this has already been resolved for you, but if not, here are some simple troubleshooting steps. I enclosed a link for cabling, from our website. The issue here could be caused by a cable ending up in the wrong spot accidentally. Also, I would try to unplug the receiver from the power source for about 10 seconds. And also make sure that your tv is on the correct channel. Tv1- channel 3 or 4, and sometimes an input such as video 1 or 2. Tv2- channel 60 or 73. If this has not been resolved, and you are still having problems, please email me at becki.barned@dishnetwork.com.

When we watch a dvd movie our dish network symbol floats around in the background. I have contacted dish, said not their issue contact sylvania

Hello, this is Dan Busa with DISH Network Customer service, What I would check is the cable coming from the receiver to the tv make sure you only have one set. If you only have one set coming from the box, check if it goes into the DVD player. If it does, hook the receiver up separately and it should work okay.
