My Sony Handycam CCD-TRV37 8mm has a tape stuck 1/2 way in with an error code of C:32:20

  • huwman Feb 16, 2009

CCD-trv57 and the tape is stuck, tape won't move either way. Code 32:20 says "T reel side tape slacking when unloading." How do you fix?

1. I removed the battery. 2. With the power switch On position and holding the tape ejected I inserted the battery back on & it ejected the stuck tape.

It's also a CCD-TRV65. Get both C:31:20 and C:32:20. Once the door actually raised up, but then went back down again. Never opened.

Erasing the tape on a sony handycam vision please

Well the cheapest way is to go into record mode, cap the lens with the black lens cap and record a 'black' picture on the tape. This will erase all the pictures on the tape and leave you with a 'black' screen on the whole tape.

Will this unit play 8 mm cassette tapes that are formatted "mp"?

You want to purchase the Handycam CCD-TRV37? If so that is 8mm. If your referring to another camera give me the model and I will let you know. Though I would consider switching over to mini-dv. The quality is alot better and is the standard now so there are many models available.
Thank you,
Lee

Error code C:32:20

My best solution, is to pull all power sources form the camera for 24 hours. If this does not work, then take the small screws surrounding the Tape housing, in order to try and get the tape out. Best of luck dude ;)

The clip that catches may be out of alignment, best to have a repair shop take a quick look.

Sony Handycam CCD-TRV37 Code C:31:10

it is whats called moisture condensation. this happens when the camera goes from a cold to a hot environment very quickly, and vice versa. Simply leave the camera standing with the tape door open for about an hour, and then try again. If this does not fix it, then try cleaning the video heads, and make sure the camera is not in a humid environment, as this will also cause this to happen.
