Hello
Sounds like the drivers for your audio device are missing or corrupt.

Go to control panel/audio or sound devices and make sure your device is listed and checked to enable.

Next go to Hp compaq.com and find which sound device is in your pc.
Download and install drivers for sound.

Or if you have the cd or dvd that came with the pc the drivers should be on there.

I have no volumeit does say NO AUDIO Output Device is installed

From the original mother board installation disk ,if on board sound or with the sound card their was a sound device(software) that must be loaded along with the software driver in order for the sound to work.  Reinstall the sound device.

No Audio Output!!??

You need to download and install the Vista compatible driver from the manufacturer of your sound card.
It is possible that if your card is old, it cannot be supported by Vista, and you will need to replace it.
