Should I replace the fan in my GE refridge Model GNE25JSKKFSS, after leaving the freezer drawer ajar over night?

It's possible that the fan blades are hitting ice, frost, or debris, causing the noise. The fan might also be struggling to turn if there's any obstruction or if it's damaged

Freezer compartment is thawing

Sounds like the compressor seized. The buzzing you hear is the compressor trying to kick on.

I noticed that happens a lot with air conditioners if power is interrupted when the compressor is running.

Did you try unplugging it for 20-30 minutes?

Sometimes letting it sit unpowered relieves the pressure that was built up in the compressor, making it easier for it to start.

My Amana refrigerator with bottom freezer thaws intermittently, every 5 days or so. When it thaws there is a buzzing sound from the fridge that lasts a couple of seconds and recurs every 30-60 seconds....

The techs are correct. The sound you hear is the compressor trying to start.
Most appliance parts companies sell what is called a
start kit or hard start kit. I personally use the "ic13".
It has given me the best results but it's a **** shoot.
If you feel like gambling, try it. As well,
It is very important that you run the machine with the back cover in place. It ducts the air to the condenser . Very important. Make sure the condensor coils are clean, as well.

REFRIGERATOR IS MAKING A BUZZING SOUND, not cooling

You have one of two problems going on. Your fan is spinning at hitting the sides. Or your compressor is shot which seems to be more the problem and even though it is cold the humming sound is a warning for you that the compressor is shot and it is more affordable to replace the fridge then the compressor. Sometimes compressor can cost more then the fridge.

INTERMINENT BUZZING NOT COOLING

from your description it sounds as if the compressor is not starting up. the buzzing noise usually occurs approx. ever 3-5 minutes and is followed by a click. this indicates either a bad start relay or a stuck compressor. and from the model you listed it is most likely the compressor. if the unit is under 5 yrs old it should still be in warranty thru sears.

Buzzing sound

the buzzing sound is the compressor trying to start. Unfortunately, it is locked up and the overload is cutting it out. It resets every couple of minutes or so. The problem is the compressor. You can try a hard start capacitor to see if it breaks loose, this is the cheap fix, otherwise it needs a new compressor, the expensive one.
