If your battery has 12 volts and you can hear click noise , try to locate the click noise. If that is coming from the starter location then the starter mtr is not working.a voltage check at the starter mtr with the key in the start position will verify the problem. if 12 volts is not present at the starter mtr thethe start switch or wires could be the problem

Not a handy man or fix it man. 04 tribute, wont start, battery wont jump start but dash board lights are on, there is a click click click noise and it wont start

Clicking noise is the sound of the starter being bad and not having enough power to turn the motor over. Replace the starter.

1998 ford contour start up, alternator? battery?

may i ask? when you jump start from doner car battery?? do you connect battery to battery with leads? reason for querie is the correct method is=connect leads to doner terminals on battery then on your car connect +LEAD TO YOUR BATTERY BUT THE NEGATIVE LEAD TO THE ENGINE ENSURE GOOD CONTACT ? if engine starts then ? you will have to check the earth lead from battery to engine connection it may be loose or deteriated ? doing the above test you are using doner battery power SO to check your cars battery ?and whether it is an earth connection fault? just connect 1xjump lead from your cars neg terminal on battery and the other end to the engine providing a good suplimentary earth to enable starter to function properly due to its high amps load needed if it works? check as explained above ? please update back on progress if any? good luck
