My Philips TV is clicking off then on again. Not often, it's been happening in the last couple of days. Could this be a fire hazard? Thank you

Maybe a thermal problem or there is something apart loose even use cold spray, manipulated by slight shaking or tapping components.

Hi, I've had that happen with TVs before, it tends to be caused by blown capacitors on the motherboard. It can be fixed however it's not something you could easily do on your own, you'd want to take the TV to a local repair shop, I've seen the repair range from $50 up to $250 or so in my experience.

I have the same model and the same problem... I am told the power display board is is the issue and may need to replacing. New board costs around $80,or a bad capacitor depending on your paitence.

My Philips TV will not turn on

More than likely it's activating the protection circuitry. Most of the time televisions won't give you a sign of trouble until something actually breaks. One day they work and the next they might not. There could be a problem in the power supply or the scan section which are both internal that would inhibit operation to prevent your set from overheating and causing a problem external to the TV like a fire. If your set is over 10 years old, replace it. If it's quite new but out of warranty then get an estimate at a reliable electronics repair store.

Burnt electronic smell even hours after tv turned off

Hello,
Its behavior is not normal. Have it repaired. Fumes are hazardous to your health especially to the little one's health. Think of a fire hazard too. As the adage says :No fumes without fire.

Hope you decide to be rid of the bomb or have it repaired.

Phillips TV not really turning on

You can try to check if these are a couple of bad solder joints on the board. You might have alot of dry joints. Take carethat the tv is unplugged and try it out. before starting, try shorting the pins of the largest capacitor in your tv set, to make sure you do not take an electric shock. Best Regards Patrick
