SOURCE: bought a second hand car

Pull the head unit and get the serial number.
Call Kenwood customer service, you may have to enter a code or press the buttons in a certain order,
if not. You might have to send it in, if the code is hidden in the PROM. If they ask for a receipt... Tell them it was a gift : )
Regards, Paul

If the screen did not even light up, then you definately have a power issue. Verify that your fuse did not blow, and then that you connected the correct wires. The power wires are usually orange and red. Red being the "always on" and orange being the "switched source".

IF THE SECURITY IS SET AND YOU DONT KNOW THE CODE YOU BETTER GO BUY A NEW RADIO,UNLESS YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL PAPERWORK AND RECEIPT YOU WILL PLAY HELL TRYING TO GET THE UNIVERSAL UN LOCK CODE FROM KENWOOD,ONLY A KENWOOD AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER CAN OBTAIN THESE UNLOCK CODES,SO UNLESS YOU HAVE A FRIEND THAT WORKS FOR KENWOOD OR YOU GET LUCKY AND GUESS THE CODE I WOULD SUGGEST JUST GOING OUT AND BUYING A NEW ONE,WILL SAVE YOU A LOT OF FRUSTRATION AND HEADACHES.GOOD LUCK

My father inlaw disconnected my batter to my vehicle... and when it was connected again my kenwood excelon xxv-05v asks me for a security code... how do i get this code?

You would have set this code when it was brand new, if you didn't set the code then it would be the factory code. Check your owners manual, if you don't have that you could try and call Kenwood, they may be able to give you the code with the serial number from the radio.
