I've got an emachines eT1641-02w that won't boot up . No way to enter BIOS screen, No eMachines screen or anything at all I've already tried these solution but they didn't help at all: -Changing the battery -Using another "tested and working" Power Supply Unit -Spend a lot of time checking for faulty memory (Checked several times with multiple memory configurations) -Not a problem regarding Hard Disk -Monitor is not the problem -Connections are not the problem The only two parts I haven't check are the Processor and the Motherboard but I don't know if I'm missing anything else?

Usually replacing the coin cell battery fixes the no boot problem. Look on the motherboard around the processor socket. Electrolytic capacitors can overheat. If you see any of them that are bulging (top is domed instead of flat), they are bad. Trying to replace all the bad ones is tedious and expensive. May be cheaper to replace the motherboard.

Registry looks to be corrupted.

As you boot the computer, press F8. You'll get the boot menu. Select 'Safe Mode with Networking'. Now the computer should be able to get into Safe Mode.

Get on to internet, Start a free registry scan from www.registryfix.com

If this fails, you may need the Windows Installation Disk to fix it.

SOURCE: I updated BIOs and now every thing is gone.

Okay, sounds like your BIOS upgrade went south. First off, re-install the original BIOS. Usually you back up the original before upgrading. Either that, or d/l the original BIOS from emachines.com. Once you've got the BIOS working, try starting the system. I'll need to know more to help you from there.

SOURCE: power supply replacement for emachine et1641-02w

i just bought a emachines as well and i noticed when purchasing a new video card that it required a 450 watt power supply, so i went to check and see how much the one i had just purchased had and of course it was 250! that is soooo low, anywho, what i am sayin is if you think that you are going to add any drives or a after market vid card then yes you need to replace the powersupply in ur emachines with at least a 500 watt, they are like 50 to 100 dollars at tigerdirect

CONTINOUS BEEP WHEN COMPUTER IS TURNED ON

To do this properly I need to know which model your computer is - is it an eMachines MB.NBK09.003 Motherboard El1850 Desktop S775 G41T-Ad ? I need this to try to establish the BIOS seller and version. You might try finding the BIOS version by (continuously) tapping the F1, F2 or esc key (or possibly another)immediately after you turn on. The "splash screen" that appears aftrer you turn on may have some lettering which tells what key to enter the BIOS.
In the absence of this information here are two suggestions
EMachines that beeps constantly and won boot up
if it is the above it is serious and the computer will need serious (difficult) repair, or main board replacement or whole unit replacement (by which I mean new computer)

The other suggestion was about the RAM not being properly in place, but I doubt this as this usually gives a different beep code

Default boot order for emachine laptop 732

Step 1:
All computer systems go through a set of instructions called the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) when they are turned on. The BIOS checks all of the hardware and software installed on the computer to make sure they are working properly before loading the operating system. You may need to access the BIOS menu periodically to find out the current version of the BIOS you have if there are upgrades available. The command you use to access the BIOS settings on an Emachines computer will vary depending on the specific model you have.

Access the Start menu and click "Shut Down." Select the "Restart" option. Wait for the Emachines logo to appear on the screen as the computer begins booting up again. Press the "Tab" key when the logo appears and see if the computer switches to the BIOS menu. Press the "Escape," "Delete," or "F2" keys if the "Tab" key doesn't take you to the BIOS menu screen. Use the right arrow key to highlight the "Main" entry and press Enter. Scroll down to the heading labeled "BIOS version." Check the long string of numbers and letters under the "BIOS version" heading to locate the current BIOS version your Emachines is using. Press the "F10" key to exit the BIOS menu screen and finish booting up the computer's operating system.

Having problem with operating system disc....can get to advanced bios menu but do not know what to change the priority of.... first 2 items on the menu won't let me change priority value and the 3rd...

there should be a boot menu command at start up just like you entered the system bios, i believe the e machine boot command is F12 that will give you the opportunity to boot from what ever you want on that boot only. so in your case of course you would scroll down to cd and hit enter. press any key to boot hit any key and boot.

Computer bios seting

Try restarting the computer. As soon as it shuts down start tapping the "Del" key continuously. It has to be before the beep if you get a beep, and before any boot up screen appears.
If this doesn't work try in the same manner tapping F2,F8 or F12.
Try going on the web to Emachine site and do a search for that question.
