The e200 series players support a different kind of usb transfer that is designed to be used with media players such as Windows Media Player and Winamp. Go to Settings>USB mode and change that to MSC. This will allow it to show up as a portable drive in the Windows directory.
If your problems are with the player, make sure that the device is completely off when you connect it to the computer, and that the Hold switch is not activated. If neither of these suggestions help, post again with as many specifics as you can.

Your SanDisk Sansa Player does not allow you to delete files from within the player (But the recorded files can be deleted at the player). Instead I recommend that you follow these steps :
When your player is connected to your computer with the USB connector, you can use your computer file browser software to view all files on your player. Your player will appear as Sansa m240. Follow these steps:
1. Use the USB connector cable provided with your player to connect the USB port on the top of your player to an open USB port on your computer. The player will appear as a Windows Portable Device on your computer.
2. Delete your music files to the player with software tools like Rhapsody, Windows Media Player or Napster Client.
3. To use the Windows Media Player, Rhapsody Client or Napster Client software to delete files to your player please refer to the Windows Media Player, Rhapsody Client or Napster Client help file.
NOTE:While you can store and organize your audio files on your player using folders with names you select, your player will ignore folders and names. Instead, your Sansa player will extract information from each audio file so that you can use the software menu to navigate your files by artist, album title, song title, and other useful criteria.
If your device can play some songs before, then it appears "...subscription..." meaning that Songs are protected or expired. You used Rhapsody to sync songs before? If so, trial expired or after 30 days the songs expired. Therefore, you need connect your device to Rhapsody do subscription.
Even though you should be able to resynchronize the files through Rhapsody in order to update the licenses on the music files, in my experience with this player, you have to go through a long, painful process:
1) Open Rhapsody
2) Connect your mp3 player to the computer
3) Delete the songs off the player itself using Windows Media Player - but make sure you still have a copy of these songs on your computer
4) Reload the Rhapsody songs
If your subscription to rhapsody expires, you will no longer be able to use the songs unless you buy them from the Rhapsody Mp3 Store.
Don't worry about it, simply go plug in your mp3 player to the computer and sign in to Rhapsody. Go to your play list and the songs should be there. Unplug your MP3 player and it should work. You have to do this because the warrant or license on your songs is up and you have to plug in your mp3 player to renew that license to keep listening to it. Hope this helps! It worked for me!
Run the Sansa Recovery Tool from Sandisks' website and start over from scratch. Usually this problem is caused by trying to transfer too many songs at once, but any number of Rhapsody errors could have caused this.
Sounds like you have a few different problems, thankfully its easy to resolve.
Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website, select FORMAT when prompted.

Format your player and re-transfer your songs. The best way to format the player is by changing the player to MSC, then connect it to your computer and open My Computer and right-click and format the player remove the quick format then click start. :D
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off,hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
