In boot option Menu I have two choices: 1. IDE 0: P-SSD1800 2. Network Boot: LEGACY PCI DEVICE Which is the better option when Windows XP won't load properly/

the 1st option is the Hard disk drive and the one you need, boot to bios reset defaults, see if the drive will boot, if not you could have SW or HDD problems preventing boot

If your PS3 is not fulling booting up this is a sign that you have corrupteed data on your hard drive. The link below will take you through the process to address this issue.

Ps3 wont come on loads up but just a black screen

This is usually how they boot up with no hard drive installed. See how it starts with the hard drive removed. Try after you reseat the hard drive. Try a different hard drive. Good Luck

Save/load problem on ps3

You can try to reformat the entire hard drive, or you can buy a new hard drive.

To reformat the drive, in the PS3 menu:

NOTE: This will erase everything you saved on the hard drive.

1) Go to the Settings menu, then select System Settings.
2) Select Format Utility, then select Format Hard Disk.
3) Select Quick Format

To replace the Hard Drive, buy any 2.5 inch notebook hard drive that has a serial ATA connection. Then remove the old hard drive from the left side of the PS3 and install the new hard drive.

The consol turns on but will not go to the menu,

It sounds like a hard drive issue. If your system can't read your hard drive it will stay on the blue Playstation screen. After a few minutes it will say it cant load from the hard drive on the screen. Try putting your hard drive in a different machine and see if it boots up.

Playstation 3 80 GB will not boot up to start menu

If you can get to it without it freezing use the System Restore function under:

System->Settings>Restore PS3

If you can't get to it because of freezing you should put your hard drive into another PS3. It will see it as a new drive and prompt you to format it. Afterwards put it back into your PS3 and it will do the same thing again.

It doesn't matter which PS3 yours or the one you put your hard drive into, they're all the same as far as the process goes.

This will sort everything out.

PS3

Try a different hard drive. When you turn it on it accesses the hard drive as the menu loads. In my experience, it does that when the hard drive has an internal malfunction. Let me know if that works. Thanks.
