If your SAT Box has multiple outputs, hook the HDMI output to your receiver so you can get full surround on movies etc. Connect the HDMI out on your receiver to an HDMI input on the TV. Run a composite or S-video connection from the sat box to the TV for regular TV viewing/listening without the receiver & speakers. I don't think you can get full HD over either of these cables, but you may be able to use the composite connections if they are available on your sat box and TV.

Insert some sort of scrapper at bottom of speaker box where front grille and box joins and hit scrapper blade with rubber hammer to bring out grille because it is fixed very tightly with box. Following images are scrapper and exploded view of speaker box that will help you. Thanks.

I have a AVR 247 and a AVR 347 there is a HDMI output on the back this will go direct to your HD TV HDMI input. If you have a HDMI output on your SAT. box then run this to the receiver HDMI 1 input. If you dont have a HDMI output on your SAT. box, then you want to use the digital fiber optic output from your SAT box and run it to OPT 1 input on the back of the receiver. This will be for audio only from the TV but thats all you want anyways. Be sure to set your receiver to HDMI 1 OPT 1 for this option. PS. This is a very clean and nice sounding receiver the only flaw to these receivers are the amount of heat they generate even on very low volumes. You must get a 4 or 5 inch boxer 120 volt fan and set on top of receiver blowing down and plug it in the back of receiver on the switched plug outlet so it comes on when powered up. This will make your receiver last 10 times longer. i have had mine for 3 years now and run them very hard sometimes with no problems with this fan addition. Hope this helps good luck.
Get into the cable box menu and look for audio settings, chances are your digital output from the cable box is off. If you still can't get audio, reply with your Cable Box Make & Model and I can help you further. Hope this helps
I have a similar set up. For yours, I would run one optical from your Sat box to your 407 and connect the DVD player optical to the Kenwood as well. This will allow you to get whatever your watching, DVD or Satellite to your speakers. For Video, use the component cables to connect DVD player to TV. For the SAT box, coaxial to TV or S video to TV will give you about the same video quality. I hope this helps. A couple of suggestions: Your new screen size will greatly magnify the quality of your video, what looked good on the Sharp may not look good on the Samsung due to the size difference. I REALLY suggest you get a new SAT box with a HDMI connection. Also you can get a blu ray player in the $120 range. The Blu ray will play blu rays and upconvert DVDs to a higher quality picture through its HDMI connection. You will be amazed at the difference HDMI will make on how your TV will look!
After 4 years of joy my Marantz SR8200 receiver also shows this message from time to time - after 1h of operation or so. Then it is hanging (like a PC ;o). Taking it of from the electricity network for a moment resolves the problem until the next POW 05 hang usually a fiew days later.
I brought the receiver to an authorized Marantz maintenance and repair center twice now and they were not able to reproduce the error.
They said this has directly or indirectly to do with the power supply unit. They also called marantz.
For me it appears that this is not an internal receiver problem IN MY CASE.
I think I there might be a relationship to zapping on my Topfield SAT receiver via power supply network as the connection is optical. Or my dimmerunit for the light. Unfortunately I do not have a separate electric circuit for Audio/Video and all other electrical devices. and dimmer units are well known to cause problems in the power supply chain - e.g. like noise in your audio package.
Please note: the experts told me: Check POW 05 can have other (receiver internal) causes also. Above is just my suspicion 8as a non-expert) for my case .
