Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Technics Stereo Cassette Deck TR 474 Deck does not record from cassette to cassette and does not playback. It appears to be a mechanical fault.

I have a technics rs tr 474 cassette deck, and it refuses to playback on either cassette.
The tape is running, so not a belt problem.
The display shows full level on each channel.
    Anyone has an idea?
    Thanks

How do I dub using the onyx double cassette deck?

There should be a button or switch that will select the recording deck and the dubbing deck. You put a blank tape into the recording deck and the pre-recorded one into the play deck. Pressing the record button on the dubbing deck, on some models should start the play deck running. If not press play on that deck.

I have a rs-tr 180 that's pulling the tape out of the housing is there a solution?

The tape player recorder that pull the tape out could have the following faults: 1) It has a separate belt from the motor/capstan to the take=up turntable. 2) Capstan roller skew the gap when you bring the mechanism in can be checked and it must be PARALLEL with the surface of each other.3) Faulty cassettes they are binding in their housing due to heat or bad manufacture! Try to rewind and wind your cassette end to end both directions. 4) head alignment not set correctly 5) clutch of take up reel worn or has a bad tension spring. depending how it was made.

I can't find the manual to my Technics RS-TR272 Stereo Cassette Deck. How do you tape something on one cassette to another?

Place the tape you want to record into the left deck, Then the blank tape into the right deck. Press play on the left deck and record on the right deck.

It may be opposite depending on which side your recording deck is on.

Which ever deck has record, place blank cassette into that one and the cassette you want to copy into the other deck.

Hope this helps and please rate thanks

Faulty technics rs tr333 twin cassette deck,no sound or led idications, tapes do work but nothing coming out of unit, can anyone help as i have never had a fault with the system, had unit from new its a few...

It is likely the circuitry that senses tape head output and amplifies it has failed. The part of the circuitry where heads are switched from record to playback may be at fault.

Won't record and play sounds muffled

Muffled sound is either damaged media (is it mostly the Left Channel? Multiple tapes or not?) or dirty Playback Head. Clean the heads and transport.

Please define better what "won't record" means. Tapes to be recorded need to have the little tab in the corner of the cassette shell present to allow the machine to enter record mode.

I need to know how to record 1 tape onto another tape on a Technics rs tr-575 dual cassette deck

press the synchro start button, the tape deck should now go to REC PAUSE, press the SPEED button till you get the required recording speed then press the synchro start again and it should start to record from deck 1 to deck 2.

make sure the tabs at the top of the tape you want to record on are intact,
if not just put a bit of sticky tape over holes.

hope this helps?

Remote control for Technics RS TR 272 Dual Cassette Deck

a system remote is the only option for you here. The deck does not have its own remote receiver. Sorry to break the bad news to you.
