Are you sure the resistors are on the output transistors (likely TIP35C/36C)?

If they're on the outputs, use the other channels as a reference.

Or are they on the power supply FETs (likely IRFZ44s)?

Hey boss. Just follow this guide and replace with a resistor that matches the value and tolerance. You have a 5 Band resistor, follow the guild and you should be good. Click here for a chart to help you identify the values.

Well it seems to me that the pictures of this amp show green ATC fuses which would be 30 amp fuses. What is your inline fuse from the battery? 40 amp fuses for the amp is too much current for the amps powersupply. If there was a short in the powersupply the max ammount of current that it could draw would be larger than designed to handle therefore damaging the amp.

Amp repair advice

check on the board to see if there is a resistor that looks similar, 90% of amps amps are matched in there design, meaning the left side is usally a carbon copy of the right, so if you look at one side and there is a resistor that looks like it's in the same spot on the other side, good chance thats the same one, read the colors off the one thats not burnt up. resistors come in different wattages,1/8,1/4 1/2 up to 10 watts, each wattage is a different size, most of the ones you see in the amp are 1/4 watt but some are 1/2 and 1/8. some on the output are 2 to 5 watt, but those are generally 10-18 mm in length, they are big ones you cant miss those. so once you get the color code, read the colors, ex red, gree, brown, last line is either silver or gold, that will tell you the resitor value. then google resistor color codes and then you can match the color sequence with the value codes, and that will tell you the value you need in ohms but then you have to get the size 1/4 watt resistors are generally about 6 mm in legnth, im measuring the actual part of the resistor not including the metal leads, just the body, so if its larger its probally a 1/2 watt if smaller its an 1/8 watt, 1/8 watt are about 4 mm. now go buy the resistor, but you might find it that tough, if its a common value radio shack might have it, but resistors are so cheap, pennies for a handful, good luck on your search.

Kx800.2 kicker car amp

TWO THINGS : first check that amp has a good ground , I mean connected to the chassis of vehicle .

second , check the connections of the speakers , it could be Unbalance , meaning not matching the value in OHMS of AMP with value in OHMS of speaker,
you will need a multimeter for this task . hope this helps

if you amp is in the PROTECTION MODE its means that there some defective part , like for example the main ICs or TRANSISTORS output might be defective , and thats why its on the PROTECTION MODE , needs to be taken to a expert technician for repair.

if burned components are on output stage or amplifier section on board..Then look at the oposite side of amp..Both amplifier section should be a mirror image oof componentc from other..that way you can know the values of parts. If they are on power supply section ..Then you might need manual if available..

Can i fix it ?

If no one else offers any suggestions, remove the transistor. Set your multimeter to ohms. If the solder pad for the left-most leg of the transistor goes to the B+ terminal of the amp (possibly via a low value resistor) and the center leg goes to pins 8, 11 and/or 12 of the tl494/tl594, the transistor is likely a 2sb631 or a 2sb649. The transistor is used to switch power to the tlx94.

If there were more than 2 of the IRFZ44 transistors (the ones most commonly used by kicker) in the supply, you need to change all of them. It's very rare that any survive. When one goes, they all go.

Did you check the audio transistors to see if any had failed?

It's likely that the output transistors have failed. If you measure the resistance between the second and third legs of the large transistors adjacent to the large (green?) resistors, you'll find several that read ~0 ohms. Its likely that only one of several that read 0 ohms is defective but all that read 0 ohms in the board are operating in parallel and must be replaced together so they match (electrically).

Disconnect the amp from the power source BEFORE trying to measure the resistance across the resistors.
