Sony Network Walkman NW-E005

Before installing Sonic Stage 4.3 I transferred all my music (all paid for under copyright) onto Sony Network Walkman NW-E005. After installation of 4.3 I transferred it all to Sonic Stage Library; and selected only some albums to transfer back to the MP3. It won't transfer and gives the following message:
"Cannot convert the specified track.
Possible reasons may include:
- The track (files) cannot be found.
- SonicStage does not support the file format of the track.
- The track is copyright protected."

The track plays OK from Sonic Stage via my PC so copyright is the issue. How do I overcome this?

OK, if it is a file format compatability issue, how do I deal with this please.

Try voidMP3FM from www.drvoid.com I have a NW-E005 but the web site says the program supports the NW-E002 as well. Have used this program from day one and have never loaded sonic stage. Heard lots of complaints about it.

Hope this helps.

The player doesn't accept removing of music, or formatting, when it is
not done from SonicStage, the software that sony offers with it.
The software is to be downloaded here.
    When you've installed the
software, format the player from the menu (all your music will be
removed, so you might want to copy it to your pc first). Then transfer
    your music with
    this program.

Please rate if this solution helped you out.

I don't think it is a copyright thing it should be file format comparability issue.

A friend of mine loaded my sony walkman nw-e005f with music form his ipod. I want to download the music to my pc. The Sonic Stage software reads it, but won't let it transfer to the pc. What can I do? I...

download the latest drivers, then restart pc, then turn on device, then hook up to usb, then go to start menu, then my computer, then find your device and double-click to open the files.
Or go to media player 11, sync device and transfer the songs to music file.

DOES NOT RECOGNIZE PLAYER WHEN CONNECTED

ive got the new version of the sony sonic stage downloaded onto my laptop, and when i plug my player into my laptop via usb cable, the player itself is recognized straight away as a harddrive/removable disk etc,and you have to transfrer music onto the player as from sonic stage music library, and you also have to creatate you own music library via sonic stage, and u can also transfer music from your own music library wich you use via windows media player, and also u can transfer a cd into you sony sonic stage music libraty, and this is similar to when your using the windows media player as to rip a cd or transfer music onto an mp3 player,as i use all diffrent types of mp3 players myself, and i find the archos gmini sx 202 player to be pretty awesome player,as ive got to of them as well, and i use windows media player as to transfer music files onto them, and i cannot transfer any music files onto the sony ones via windown media player as those music file wont show up on the player at all,and ive tried this myself, and it will only work via sony sonic stage.

HELP NW-E107

Just opened mine an hour ago. Version 3.0 Sonic Stage in the box. They really want you to use their Atrac compression. In Sonic Stage, Import your files (or let it create your libray), then it will convert as needed.

I am now listening to music. Meanwhile I have downloaded Sonic Stage 4.3 from Sony website, as well as the 4.3 security patch.

However, they have an MP3 driver that will allow you to load MP3 onto this device, without Sonic Stage (you'll need to install). Doesn't say if it will allow WMA too.

I'll be trying more tomorrow.

That'll do the trick.
