Similar problem but I Think I screwed up royally. I started the install while logged into Win 2K and chose the clean install. After the computer restarted, it either continues to restart after POST or after tweaking BIOS, it says no operating system found... I have a Floppy drive (USB) but it doesn't seem to work. Did I just make a paperweight out of this thing or can I fix it?

    Thanks

Fujitsu Stylistic LT C-500 with boot problem... have tried fdisk /mbr, complete format with FAT on another computer, installing Win 98, Win2000, WinXP, but always after POST I get a blinking cursor on a blank screen.

Is there something about formatting the drive while it is in the Fujitsu that would be different than formatting in a desktop with an adapter installed? Why wont it recognize the location of the os on the drive? Stumped...

Chris please post your advice.... I have a new HD for it, but I still need help! Thanks!

  • jobob55 May 11, 2010

....absolutely! Please post the details... I have scoured the Net using Google and I have yet to find a straightforward step by step technique to solve this problem. I tried loading the original HD onto another computer using a USB enclosure and install XP that way, until I broke one of the pins from switching the HD back and forth...anyway I digress-- anxiously awaiting your solution!

Ok... after much slaving, trial and error, and just plain getting frustrated I finally figured out how to install XP on a Fujitsu Stylistic LT c-500 with EVERYTHING working!! The installation is difficult and time consuming but well worth it. Getting XP on the blasted thing is part of the difficult uphill battle... but Mr. Mark Rehorst does a wonderful job of explaining it here. Follow the directions carefully keeping in mind that you MUST have the cd-key for the EXACT CD you use... and that to install XP and get everything to work you really need at least a 20gb hdd and 256mb ram. Without those your system will be slow. Next once XP is up and 'running' you'll notice that your touchscreen is not working. Download the CIC XPen off of the Fujitsu support site... now here comes the interesting part. Unpack the driver to C:\Drivers\Pen once you've unpacked it find the file called fujpen.inf open it in notepad to edit it. You will see:
[ControlFlags] ExcludeFromSelect=*FUJ02B6
Make sure the last digit is 6 in that string... this is saying to exclude that model in the driver. If it's anything other than a 6 change it to a 6. Now then... further down you'll see:
[FPC.Mfg] %FPC.DeviceDesc0% = pendrv, *FUJ02B6
Now... remember what I said about the 6 above? Yeah... the driver is fighting with itself, help it out and change the last number to a 7. Save the .inf file. Go to your device manager right click on the unknown device and update it with the modified file... and presto changeo your touchscreen works!! Now for the other unknown device in there, it is called the Fujitsu FUJ02B1 Device Driver. Unfortunately Fujitsu dosen't include a driver for this... but if you google search it you should come across driverguide.com and they'll have it. You will have to sit through a few ads to get it... but wow... the world that is unlocked by xp on this tiny little pad is amazing! Good luck!

Yank the hardrive out the tablet. Plug it up to a tower PC. Low level format the hardrive with something that will work as a program in XP( no need to go to dos or some bootable program for this.) This is the trick- Boot the hardisk drive to MAXBLAST(look it up). Go to advanced settings, install the boot loader. Then install witch ever OS you want win98 to win7. ( all this is done on the tower PC)Before snatching hardrive out of tower change system device to standard pc power interface management. Install drive in table PC. : ) Get XP pen drivers from Stylistic Lt 800 {: )

Follow instructions for windows 2000 here, just do with XP what is described for 2000.
I am not sure C 500 supports xp, it need at least 256 Mb of ram, do the same prescribed for 2000, in the way they work XP and 2000 are very similar, 2000 is much faster because has less cosmetic effects.

you don't really need driver's to transfer file, pic, doc, movies,etc...
just connect the Mini USB cord and on your tablet's notification area make sure you select USB connected.> select USB connect and the android will turn Orange.

You will see Drive E :(that will be the Tablet's Hard Drive Storage)
and F: (F) drive will be your external SD-card storage.

How do i get a mouse to work

For any peripheral accessory to work (keyboard, wireless mouse, printer, etc.) you need to have the drivers installed on the PC. You should try to Google the brand and model of the device and search for the drivers for your mouse. For example, If the mouse is a Microsoft Optic 4000, Google Microsoft Optic 4000 driver. One of the top 2-3 links should provide you with a way to install the driver. After install you may need to restart your PC but it should work then.

Set up did not find any hard disk drivers installed on computer

Your notebook has SATA hdd. Got into the bios (keep pressing F2 key on startup) then in the bios screen find HDD and press enter. Select IDE mode. Press f10 to save changes and exit. When this is done install XP.
Alternatively connect external usb floppy drive and unzip sata drivers into that. When booting from xp cd press f6 to load drivers.Follow onscreen instructions to load drivers and continue xp installation.
Please let me know if issue not solved for futher ts steps.
thanx

Gateway Tablet, BSOD unmountable_boot_volume

you have to go to gateway and download the driver for the SATA controller then save it to floppy or cd then hit F6 durning install then it will ask you for the driver. This Tablet will not see a non-gateway cd if you have the one that came with the tablet then you are good, but if not you will need to do this for the current drive or if yo upgrade to newer drive. Hope this get you started, I had this same problem and I thought it was my motherboard was bad because it would not see the hard drive during installation. This fixed my issue with the drive not being seen during installation of the OS.

Installing windows without DVD

The hard disk is not recognized from USB because of SATA drivers not present on XP setup disk.

That happens because the BIOS uses a SATA controller that is not included in Windows XP install disk.

Usually you can solve the problem going to BIOS settings and changing SATA/RAID settings.Check your BIOS settings, and disable SATA RAID mode. This is done in different ways depending on the BIOS.

On HP/Compaq computers for example you press F2 on startup to enter BIOS, then disable SATA mode on bios settings.
On other makes the procedure can be slightly different.

Another way to fix the problem, is by creating your own XP setup disk with SATA drivers included, see:
Resolving "Setup did not find any hard disk drives" during Windows .
