Install the memory card in the device and hook the device up to the computer with the USB cable. Go into my computer and the memory card should show up as a removable storage device. Right click on it with you mouse and select format from the drop down menu. If your computer has a card reader slot on it for your memory card you can just plug it in that slot and repeat the process above. You can also buy an external usb memory card reader for under 10 bucks and also use the same process. Formating the card will prepare it so that you can save files on it. Formating will also erase anything on the card so make sure you save anything you need on it before you format it. If you need more help feel free to cotact me an I will help you more for free but I think I aswered your question as fully as possible with every way you can format a Memory card. Memory card in a locked condition, the data can be saved. There are two ways you can do:
1. Use the data recovery software (must be software full version). How: insert memory card, run the data recovery process, select the drive memory card, etc. Save the file to your hard drive recovery. After the data saved, memory card format (quick format), then restore the data into the memory card.

2. Quick format memory card, and do the data recovery process. So that data can be saved, do not do a full format, but do a quick format. Tools such as hard drives, flash drives, memory cards, when done quick format, data can be saved.

I had pics. on my card from my cell phone. i pressed format and now its empty. can i get these pics. back?

You can recover photos after memory card from with asoftech photo recovery. I used the program before, you can download trial for free.

Please be noted that your phone memory should show as a drive letter in your explorer, if not, you need to take out your memory card and connect using a card reader, or plug-in to card reader slot if there's any on your computer.

My microSD card memory is a not formating accept and not deleting old files.

HI there,
It seems that your memory card is infected with the virus which restricts you from formatting,
To Format the memory card:
Take out the card from the cellphone, Insert your memory card in the card Reader, (External more preferably or internal memory card if you are using laptop),
When window recognize that memory card is inserted , Just hit cancel and do not open your Memory card.
Right click on my computer and select Manage Then Select Disk Management it will show you the list of installed Hard Drive, DVD , and memory cards, right click and select your memory card (On the left size you can see the size of the memory card) and select Format, a pop up screen will come and you can select format options. Select Perform a Quick Format. and then click OK, it will format your memory card, and all the data will be erased from the memory card,
Caution: Always select the right partition in Disk Management for formatting to avoid any possible data loss,

Why my memory card not formatting

Hi!

Your problem might have different causes... As you didn't supply much details I'll try my best to help:

* The memory card itself may be faulty and need to be replaced.
* If connected through a microSD-to-SD adapter and/or SD-to-USB adapter, the adapter(s) might be faulty. Also, try using a different USB port on your computer.
* If you're trying to format it through a camera, the memory card type might not be supported by the camera and therefore it doesn't get formatted. In this case, use a supported card and/or format your card by connecting it to a computer.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

Good luck,

My 4gb sandisk memorie card unable to format how to format this card, ithik the driver of card is missing plz solve problem

You don't need any drivers for any USB card. If you can't format it, either the memory card or the USB port is defective. Try to use the card at another computer or try another card on the same USB port.

My memory card is unreadable. I insert it into both of my cameras and into my computer and they all say the format is wrong and they won't read it.

plug your memory card into your computer
go to my computer right click on the memory card then click format.
Maybe one of your cameras have a format function on them, go to settings and it might be in advanced or memory then click format.

oops i accidently put this in clarification... dumb computer locked up and changed it...

If this memory card will be connected to a camera you can simply put the memory card to the camera and there you can format it using the camera's menu, you can also format this memory card using a card reader that will be connected to your computer, just put the memory to a card reader then connect it to the computer that way you can also format the memory card....
