Soyo Tech aid response 2A: "different BUSes" on 1999 AMI Bios on ECS P4800 Pro-M VI.0A pc motherboard.Won't boot but stops. How to fix?

Visit http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=574&LanID=9
and compare that is your BIOS updated ? If not, I suggest first update your BIOS to the latest version and see if error is removed ? Try Load Optimal Settings of BIOS. If fail, then try resetting the BIOS. If you have install anything new, try to boot by removing the new device. I suggest from the above URL, you can download the manual of the mother board. I hope trying these steps will remove your problem.

I try update Bios, but it didn't finish. Then I reboot the machine and now, no video, no sound, nothing. Just the CPU fan works. Before the pane - ECS A790GXM-A. Bios Type: ECS Bios ID:...

I can not understand what did ctually you do.if you modify the bios can not recover .But if you tried for setup it must recover .
Open cover >remove battery>wait for 2 minutes>enclose the battery>go for BIOS setup .First you should do defalt or optimise then f10 (for save or as per guidlne for the mb)

My ECS P4M800Pro-M board will not hold bios after shut-down.

Good day sir/ma'am, we have several old motherboard that acts like that and everytime we turn oon the PC, CMOS/BIOS previous settings were not saved. even new batteries did not solve the problem, We suspect its the CMOS/Bios chip itself is the culprit. We did replace the whole mobo with new ones and scrap the old ones.
My answer to your Q is maybe, until we try to update it. but the best is to replace the bios chip.

At boot with a new motherboard I am getting unknown bios error error number E120

Open your manual to page 40. Follow the instruction shown for; Load Performance Defaults.
If you are still unable to get the bios to load properly contact ECS for a new updated bios chip or you can flash the bios your self. See page 9 for location of bios jumper. Note: bios chip is to the left of JP1.

In what soft (utilites) I need for update BIOS votherboard ECS?

You don't need to update the BIOS unless something is not working, the BIOS tells the computer where to go to find the OS and then the OS takes over.

Soft Utilites means another word for 3rd Party software, so you download third party software to update your bios.

EliteGroup ECS GeForce6100SM-M video problems

You are the fourth person I have helped with this board. One would think that ECS would have this posted on their site. Please update you're bios. Click on this link: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=685&DetailName=Bios&MenuID=1&LanID=9
Two user's tried 2 different settings & each worked out fine. You made the correct setting in you're bios. After flashing the bios to the latest bios file. Re-check you're settings. You may find you're setting will function. If not you will have to change the bios setting to Enable. According to ECS the bios will automatically turn off the onboard video. As I mentioned, this does & does not work. Try both settings if Disable fails to load with out the blue screen.

Good Luck!

Computer will not boot after bios update

you updated the bios?

Its possible that your bios update failed and the bios is now corrupt.

try to rest the bios by th bios jumper, consult your manual or just remove the power and the battery for a hour and try again.

If the bios is corrupt it would need to be removed from the motherboard and reprogrammed.
