Hi. I have a Micro-Star MS-7181 (Socket 940) computer running XP3 Home! It's as horrible as it looks and am on dialup as well! Am unable to get sound from the USB speakers. The computer has no sound card...

You can try re-installing the sound driver. Check the usb ports to make sure they're working. If they are, then it's the usb sound unit. If not, it could still be the sound unit. If you have an old sound card you think you can get drivers for, try that to confirm the bad usb unit. You could try the usb unit in another pc to confirm it's operation as well. Let me know.

Speakers are plugged in correctly and hardware list shows several sound devices. all volumes are up and still no sound

What I could recon from your question is that your audio driver is not installed in your reformatted PC.

Please be informed that any Driver software depends upon the PC make, Motherboard type and Operating System. You need to know all the three information's to do get going.

Please find the Driver software's of your Audio and video inside the installation disk provided with the PC at the time of purchase. As you have not mentioned your PC make I am unable to give you the direct download link. However you can download the same by visiting the website of the company that manufactured the PC.

Even here you need to be careful to download the correct software for your PC. You need to be exact with the PC make and Model number and the OS that you are using.

To install just Double clock on the driver setup.exe file and go on clicking 'Next' until you get the 'Finish' option and restart the PC.

NO SOUND FROM COMPUTER

1) Next to the Time and date in Windows Operating system, click on the down arrow button in windows 7,ensure the Speaker Icon is there,
2) Left click PC mouse on the speaker icon to ensure that the volume of the speaker is not muted. Increase the volume bar gradually and test sound by playing sample video files in windows media player
3) If Speaker icon is missing reinstall sound drivers, and restart the PC to enable the sound
4) Call the direct PC manufacturer if suspected faulty hardware issues on sound devices

Unable to load autocad 97 on windows vista

I don't believe Autocad will work at all on Windows Vista.

The only other solution I can think of is to download Virtual Box from http://www.virtualbox.org/

You will need to have an XP cd to install, and basically you will be installing an XP virtual machine, at which time you can then install Autocad 97 onto that virtual machine.

Hope this helps!

Unable to connect speakers to desktop

The monitor has integrated speakers. This means that there should be a headphone jack at the front or side of the monitor. You can plug your (amplified!) speakers into this jack, and it will bypass your monitor speakers.
