Will not start

Either plugged in with charger or on its own, it will not boot up and start. Any ideas to wake it up?

That was my post. As I sat here with it plugged in, it suddenly started charging again. That's the solution, patience.

Hey Rachel 609, how long did you have to leave yours plugged in before it actually started charging again?

  • notowen Dec 16, 2008

Ha! Mine also started charging as I wrote that last post, so I guess the answer to my question is "as long as it takes to write a question on this website about your problem."

Must be an "extremely low battery" situation.

has anyone figured this out yet? I haven't used my recorder in two months and when I went to power it up . . . nothing. I'm leaving it plugged in the ac charger for a while and hope that the thing will start charging. I've only had this recorder for two years and I'm really bummed out.

The circuitry is not teh best on these, make sure when charging thet power does not fluctute (it's been known to "error" during recharge) - also, dont leave plugged-in for much onger than taht charge duration, else it will begin to drain!

How do i get the computer out of hybrination on start up

First is to press the power button like you would normally do to power up. If the battery is too low in charge you may have to bring it up with the charger to a minimum charge so it can turn on. Another idea is to hold the power button for 5 seconds, giving it time to fully shutdown then power up normally. If that isn't the answer try removing the battery if it's a laptop and reconnecting it, connect the charger, wait a few minutes if the battery didn't have a good charge and see if it will wake up.

Some computers may not wake up in certain hibernation modes but most will if the BIOS is set for S3 hibernation mode. Obviously it does have to boot to check that.

My kindle won t turn on

Her is a possible solution:
1. Plug into the original charger, hold the power down for a full 30 seconds, release. Let charge in this state for 12 hours.
2. Lease the device plugged into the charger, while you have the device plugged into power, press the power button for a full 40 seconds, release. Wait for 5 seconds and then press and release the power button. Did the device wake up? No, continue to step 3.
3. Plug the device into another charger, if you do not have an charger from another phone go to Staples or Radio Shack pick up a new Kindle or Universal charger, make sure you can return the charger.
4. Plug the Kindle into the new or alternate charger. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds release. Let charge for 12 full hours.
5. Unplug the Kindle from the charger.
6. Press the power button for 40 seconds - time it. Release the power button, wait for 5 seconds, then press and release the power button. The Kindle should wake up. If not, proceed to step 7.
7. If you can not wake up the Kindle from a 'hard reset' the Contact Amazon directly for a replacement.

Vostro 3500 won't turn on and charger light is flashing

How old is your laptop? if it is over 5-6 months it could be because of a faulty battery. You may want to upgrade or change your battery.

Toshiba satellite L305-s5955 power turns Problem with the PC Laptops Toshiba satellite L305-s5955 power turns on, fan turns on. screen stays black. Will not power off with button. Power supply working....

Hello Kristi,

I'm not sure if this will work, but worth a try. It appears that your power up settings have got messed up somehow.

Put it all back together, batteries and charger. It will try to boot after a fashion. Just give it a couple of minutes to try and do what it should. If it still hasn't come on properly, press and keep pressed the on/off button until the laptop turns off (about 5 seconds). Leave it a couple of minutes then try and turn it on again normally.

After this, I'd need to be able to look at what's happening to help any more.

My BB 8520 battery got drained last nite and i start charging it in the morning, only red lighhts flashing on the led but its not opening at all.i charge it for 4 hours still not opening.

Hello,

The battery cell is very weak. Using a charger won't wake it up. To wake up the battery cell, you need to charge the battery with a desktop charger. After that, you can continue charging with your BB charger.

I hope you understand the message I am try to pass above.

I summary, the battery cell needs to be boosted to wake up the battery cell. Your BB charger cannot do that.

Good luck.

Won't charge

Hello,

if the charger is good, then there is something wrong with the charging port or the battery.

If the battery is very flat before you charge, the charger would not be unable to wake the battery because the battery cell is weak. Its only a desktop charger that can wake the battery cell.

So, test your phone with another good battery, and if it still does not charge, then the charging port is bad as I said earlier.

Best wishes.

Not turning on

  1. Press the home button (the big circle below the screen) and the sleep wake button (the button on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
  2. Hold both buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, Ignore the "Slide to power off" and keep holding
  3. The iPhone should now shutdown automatically - (fade to black)
  4. Turn the iPhone back on by hitting the sleep/wake button.
  5. You should now see the Apple logo, your iPhone is restarting and thus booting up.
  6. You have completed a hard reset successfully

Wish Chaintech 6BTM to wake up from power back

It may be a setting called ups in control panel>power options and make sure ups is enabled and set up correctly. The only other way to do it is from the power connectors on the motherboard from the front panel, if you get the + and - the wring way round it will make the pc turn on without the use of the button
