You should get a disc with the router, Its very simple, install and follow the directions. Also Linksys has the best support I have seen for computer problems. They have site on line that will test yur unit and reconfigure it for you and if that does not work call linksys 800 546 5795. Usually They are plug and play, some routers will work by just plugging in and trying, some have to have the software installed. Good Luck
