I have an LG x140 notebook, it seems that i cant change my desktop background. Ther is no option for is. Nothing in the control panel wher it should be neithrt when you right click on the desktop it self is no option to change or when you right click on a picture... any othe suggsestions.is there something i need to download?

Try these solutions:
Right click on any picture that you want as your laptops background.
A window will open and then you will pick "set as laptop/desktop background.
Now that picture will be your background of your laptop.

Another way is to click Start>Control Panel>Appearance and Themes>Change desktop/laptop background>...When the window opens you will click on the tab Desktop, from there you can choose the desktop backgrounds available there, or you can click the browse button and find the picture you want as your desktop background.

click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scoll to ports(com&lpt)right click to scan for hardware changes or scroll to monitors + to expand plug and play monitor right click where you have options to update driver,disable.uninstall,scan for hardware changes or select properties where in the general you have the option to troubleshoot also in the driver tab you have the same options as when you first right click on monitor

click start control panel,display,desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list also settings you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal size,larger size or custom settings
always click APPLY after making any changes

if you windows vista or seven basic installed there is no option to allow you to change the background

1. on the desktop, click start
2. click Control Panel
3. in Control Panel window, click Display
4. in Display Properties window, click Desktop tab
5. click Browse... button then browse to find image file and double click on it
6. click OK button to save and exit

If it is windows xp right click on the blank space on the desktop and go to properties and you will be able to change the background from the properties window

if it is windows vista then right click on the blank area on the desktop and go to personalise and click on change desktop background

if it is windows 7 go to control panel and under appearance you have an option to change desktop background
