Try cleaning up the paper sensors located at the middle of the paper path.

We had this exact problem. Looked on another website similar to this one and read the suggestion of turning the switch on the back multiple times (which apparently can trigger the "reset" function). We almost gave up, but it worked! We're up and running!

***** Important note on getting the power switch fix in the back to work while toggling it on and off to reset the shredder. Make sure to pull out the paper bin while you toggle the power switch on and off a dozen or so times and then put the basket paper bin back in place. When you power the unit back on the forward button should work again and the shredder should feed paper through properly.

My shredder will run in reverse but not auto/forward. It is completely cleared of jams. Any suggestions

There should be a little leaf switch directly in the middle of where you feed in the papers to be shreadded. It could be jammed or simply bad.

My shredder will only work in reverse.

There must be a button on the shredder you need to push so it works forward, this button has 2 options: forward for shredding, and backward to push caught papers out of shredder.

Shredder keeps running on auto

Unplug it and check to see if theree is any paper caught in the Start switch. Turn it Off, plug it back in and start in the Reverse mode. Then turn it Off and set the swich for On - shread.

If that doesn't work unplug it and find the start switch trip wire, Toggle it a few times with something thin - don't push too hard. You can also spray the switch the canned air used to clean keyboards. Plug it back n, start it in reverse then move it to shread.

Won't shread

Will it reverse ??

Unfortunately, the death of these things is mostly attributed to inserting more than the rated number of sheets, in this case 8, and jamming it or burning the motor out

Hello my nane is Tom. The shredder doesn't work. It will run in reverse but when I turn it to forward it run for a second or two than stops. I looked and I can't see anything jamed in it.

I got mine to work by running it on reverse for a moment then sliding it to auto. It stopped. Then I did it again. This time auto ran just for a second then stopped. I did it a third time but I had a sheet of paper ready in the feeder. Ran on reverse. Slid it to auto and it took the paper and shred it. I did it a fourth time. Reverse slide auto and feed shred the paper. Fifth time Auto shred the paper without reverse. :)

Stopped working while i was using it

Mine does that when it jams, or overheats. Try toggling the switch between forward and reverse to clear any jam. If that doesn't work, you can unplug the unit, turn it over, and remove jammed paper with needle nose pliers. If there is no jam, try letting it cool for a while and then try in the reverse position.

Doesn't work going forward only in reverse

sounds like you have a sensor problem. is it automatic reversing on jamb? if so sensor is defective, or there is a bind causing sensor to reverse only, a bent shaft could cause that
