Question about PC Desktops

My hp pavilion dv2000 running vista home prem will suddenly restart itself for no reason. sometimes when i'm at the computer just surfing and others when i'm not even at it. happens every couple of weeks. my computer is generally pluged into a network so i don't know it's a remote command but i haven't seen anything pop up. also i have my firewall blocking most things i think. regards

    i've already scanned my computer for viruses etc, done registry cleans and disk scans.

Scan your system with a good antivirus software.

Sounds like it's overheating. Check to make sure your graphics card cooling fan and CPU cooling fan are working. If they are add some case fans. Get a can of compressed air and clean out all the vents and fans. You can also use a vacuum with a hose attachment to clean it.

Hi,

Sleep is more commonly known as Hibernation with Vista.
Sometimes certain updates or freshly installed service packs can mess with your settings, or sometimes disable the feature altogether.

Microsoft have released a fix for just this problem.

Go here to Microsoft (link below) read down the page until you see Fix this problem, click on that and then click on Run when prompted.
You should get a message saying that the problem is fixed.

Restart your computer and set your Hibernation settings.

go to run and in run type msconfig and in msconfig try to change the boot oder of the computer and disable all start up from the computer and check the things would will definetly work

Maybe the hardware inside of the computer is not supporting the operating system of the computer, Check the specification of vista operating system if match to hardware of the computer. if not i might advise you to use the XP operating system to the computer.

The CPU have a problem it gets restart by itself.


hi..the reason for the problem is viruses.
ur computer is infected by wide range of
viruses.After turning on your computer
in few minutes ur computer might automatically
get turned off.This is mainly due to the hidden threats.

That is a power failure, please try change the power supply..or test the voltage in the wall outlet if it rate 220 volts if not then power supply is the main causes. Sometimes the software's got conflict due to virus infections.

try to scan your computer with a potent antivirus maybe it help.

because you haven't activated your windows vista, does the wallpaper becoming black?

you have to activated your vista 1st, if not, it will locked some feature of the windows.

Hello!

That beeps indicated that there is a problem in the video Graphics adapter and in the memory.

try remove and clean the memory and then fix it back, im sure that would resolve your problems. however if this not solve then your should replace the memory.

If affraid to do so, then maybe let the repairman do it for you.
